  3. Celebrity Reflection
On the Reflection for an 11-day cruise to Grand Cayman, Cartagena, Panama, Costa Rica, Cozumel. All in all, pretty good. The ship was well-maintained and it didn't seem overly crowded. Staff generally friendly and helpful, especially in main dining room. The food was very good. However, a number of dishes had too much salt. Even with that, it was as good food as I've had on a cruise. I'd give it a 5 if not for the salt. The overall experience in the main dining room was first-rate. Lots of choices, especially with appetizers & soups. While the bread was good, desserts were so-so. Was happy with the variety and quality in the buffet for lunch and the 3-4 breakfasts we ate there. Had one meal in Murano, the extra-cost restaurant. It was good, but don't think it was any better than the food in the main dining room and don't think it was worth the extra cost. The entertainment ranged from OK to bad and was not comparable to what I've experienced on other lines, including Holland America, which seems to be their competition. The house band was competent, guitarist Danny Smart entertaining, and the magician good. Otherwise, the production shows were embarrassingly bad--cruise entertainment seems to have slipped from dinner theater quality in the past to second-rate amusement park fare. Other than the main show, the other entertainment was sparse--a lot of it was in the atrium, which was not conducive to sitting and enjoying it. Daytime activities were not very extensive--we went to two pretty good lectures, but Holland America has cooking classes and there's nothing to compare with on Celebrity. Fitness center was reasonably well-equipped. I ignored staff's efforts to sell useless upgrades, but that's a feature on every cruise these days. If you want to get on a cruise ship and vegetate, this may be the ship for you--it was clean and comfortable with generally top-notch food. If you're interested something a little more stimulating, there may be better choices. Celebrity did a good job with embarkation and disembarkation. Did three ship excursions, two snorkeling and a tour in Panama, and they all met expectations. Private tour in Cartagena (with Dora) was pretty good, although her bus was not that comfortable. The room was clean, the balcony spacious, and the beds comfortable. It was relatively small, and the lack of storage was a negative--there were big cabinets above the beds, but I could see that some people would have a problem.

Pretty good, but a few weaknesses that need to be addressed

Cabin Review

Concierge Class
Cabin C2 1007
Cabin clean and comfortable, but not particularly spacious, although the balcony was good-sized. Bathroom well-laid out. Could use improvement in storage.
Resort Deck Balcony Cabins, Suite Cabins

  • Embera Indian Tour
Good job on this by the tour company that worked with Celebrity (Adventure 2000). Tour also went to locks. If you've been to Panama before and went to Panama City, this would be a good experience instead of that.

  • Snorkeling
Snorkeling not as good as in Grand Cayman. Crew tried a bit too hard to be funny, and it didn't always work.

Went to two spots, on reef and over wreck. Crew was competent & safety-conscious.
