Sun Princess Cruise Review by tonyfin
- Sail Date: March 2019
- Destination: Asia
- Cabin Type: Interior
A few disappointing aspects.
-Happy hour has gone. This was a great opportunity to meet people & socialise.
-The coffee card has gone. Your coffee purchases are now credited to your ship card. If you don't use all your credits on the cruise they are gone. The unexpired portion of the old style coffee card could be used on future cruises.
-Disembarkation at Hong Kong can be disastrous if you are waiting for a taxi. It took 4 hours to get one. Princess should have warned passengers about this. A prearranged transfer is highly recommended
-A better system of arranging seating for the Princess Theatre sorely needs improvement. We did not get to one performance because it was packed out up to an hour before the show.
Overall a clean ship with good hygiene standards. Very few sick people noticed on board.

A good location but a bit noisy over the wheelhouse bar.

Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)A well organised tour with lunch provided in a top class hotel. The 2 war museums were interesting. The city is a bustling place with scooters everywhere.View All 164 Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) Cruise Port Reviews

Hong KongI strongly advise not to get a taxi at ocean terminal. We & hundreds of others waited 4 hours for a taxi, 1 came every 10 to 15 minutes. Will have an organised transfer next time.View All 314 Hong Kong Cruise Port Reviews
Be careful with the taxis. One of our party was charged the equivalent of $100 aud to go less than 1k. We paid about $10aud ($60hkd). Make sure you take a photo of the metre reading as they turn it off & you have no proof in case they try to rip you off.
The hop on hop off bus is recommended for those not familiar with hk.

LombokNot a very pleasant location on land particularly after the recent earthquake. The tender boat ride was scenic and worth it if you can get on the top deck.View All 32 Lombok Cruise Port Reviews

Nha TrangAppears a very modern city but there is much poverty in the outer areas but people seem happy enough. Be careful with your money, don't expose more than you need to.View All 65 Nha Trang Cruise Port Reviews
The river cruise was in a small sampan type boat , took about 6 people, no good for disabled.
