  3. Celebrity Edge
Booked the Edge because we wanted to see what all the hype was about. The infinity staterooms looked so innovative so we booked one in concierge class. We were so disappointed in the room - it felt like an inside cabin with a large window that could sometimes be opened. Almost claustrophobic. However, if it is hot outside, it will be hot inside as the glass doors separating very small “balcony” portion are not airtight. The martini bar is in what on Soltice class ships ic considered the grand foyer. There is not enough seating here, yet plenty of seating throughout the ship in random hallways? The only other interior bars are a small casino bar and Eden bar. Speaking of Eden, the food was not great (we had much better in the other ship restaurants). Strangely, waifs wonder about and perform spontaneous acts of acrobatics or juggling, or just staring into space, while you are trying to enjoy your meal and company. Outside, there is one pool bar and the Sunset bar. There is no Cellar Masters or World Bar. The ship just seems tight space for passengers below suite level. The bow is no longer available as this is now the Retreat, a suite only area. One whole side of the pool area is now large cabanas available for pricey daily rental. We took the premium wine package and were very disappointed with the wines by the glass. Much better on the Soltice class ships. The plus side is the staff - they were great. Food was good, entertainment was fair, and the ship is very attractive. We understand that Celebrity is renovating all its ships to be more like the Edge. It feels like they are trying to attract a very different demographic group. It is definitely a ship with 2 classes of travelers and you feel it. We will certainly never book a cruise on an Edge class ship again. In fact, we were booked for the November TA from Europe on the Edge and changed our reservation to the Reflection TA after 2 days on the Edge.

Over hyped, under delivered
