Had a wonderful cruise with only a few quirks. Food was good but lacked choices, never a chair available by the pool as people saved them in spite of the rules, masking tape all over on the partition glass between our balcony and the one next door as paint had been scraped off, (good thing our friends were in that stateroom as we could see into each others balconies), One evening we were sitting out on the deck enjoying a full moon rise when water started pouring down on us from the deck above (Windjammer outdoor) We hollered up to let staff know were were there and they said "sorry" but kept sweeping water on us, so we had to end the evening abruptly. Ports of call, Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, Grand Cayman and Labadee were excellent, evening shows were great, and as always, the staff on board were amazing!!. We were a bit disappointed in the "KEY" program as we feel it took away all the perks for being "loyal to Royal". Does anyone else feel this way about the program or is it just us? Sort of like buying the privilege instead of earning it. Our shore excursion on Curacao was not the greatest. We booked the island tour with beach. We felt very rushed to get through the Curacao Liquor Factory and barely had time to taste, with no time to buy anything. The beach they took us to was so crowded there wasn't a single chair available, standing room only, so we asked the tour guide to take us back to the ship, which he did. RCCL did give us a 15% refund on the tour. We still love RCCL in spite of the quirks and still love our wake view stateroom on deck 10 in spite of the noise, construction and dripping water.

A few mishaps

Cabin Review

Spacious Ocean View Balcony
Cabin 4B 1604
We love having the wake view and enjoy the additional balcony space in these staterooms. Having morning coffee out there watching the sunrise is our favorite part of cruising. The cabin was spacious and comfortable with more than enough storage space and this time we actually had almost enough coat hangers too. The cabin steward, Rosen from Bulgaria was wonderful and attentive.

  • Island Tour
We booked a nice tour that took us to the California Lighthouse, around the island and back to the ship. It was about 2 hours long and worthwhile. Cost was $25 per person.

We look an independent tour with a local who took us to see the flamingoes, all around the island, salt flats, etc. Very interesting and not expensive. $30 per person

Rushed through the tour part, and when we arrived at the beach, which we were supposed to spend 2 hours at, it was so crowded you could barely walk through it. We asked the driver to return us to the ship. Don't book the island tour and beach stop.

  • Island Tour
We booked with a gentleman just as we left the ship for a 2 hour island tour, $25 per person. We went "to hell and back", dolphin swim, rum factory and several other stops before driving along the beaches and back through town. Great tour!

  • Labadee
Labadee is our favorite port of call. It's so relaxing and beautiful. Nellie's Beach is the best place to be. Wish there was something that could be done to keep all the flies away from the luncheon food but I guess that is part of the experience.

It's fun to cruise out of Miami past all the big waterfront homes with yachts.
