We were on the Regal in the past on a 7 day Eastern, but found we didn't have enough time to explore and experience the entire ship in such a short time. We booked this as a 14 day trip as it had different itineraries each week. We flew to FLL and arrived at 9:45. We were at the terminal by taxi for $20 by 10:15. We live in Canada, so we prepared for our Medallions at home using the app and picked them up at the pier. We were on board by 10:45. Most organized embarkation ever! We went to our room, which was ready, dropped off our carry-on, changed and went to eat and sit at the pool. The medallions worked really well for us. We loved the unlocking feature for the door. All of the service desks around the ship (shore excursion, purser's, international cafe) have tablets on them, so when you approach, the staff already knows you as your name and photo come up on the screen. We had a guaranteed balcony assigned 6 days pre-cruise A609. It was in a great location, beautiful fixtures. Everything was in good condition. Our room steward was efficient. She never went above the standard, but was fast and courteous. The balcony is small, but we still spent a lot of time on it. We signed up for the escape room. It was well done and well attended. The items are well used. We have done one on Norwegian and feel that was more professionally done and more suitable for repetitive use. The shows were well done. It was difficult to get seats if we didn't go 45 min early. Sometimes, we were turned away 20 min before the show. The pools and decks were well maintained. The attendants were often seen clearing towels and items from unattended chairs, so there was often a chair available. MUTS was great. The Superbowl was played the first night. Other movies included The Greatest Showman, Bohemian Rhapsody, Instant Family. The day-time shows and movies were really good, too. The pool games were not well attended and sometimes didn't run due to lack of participation. The cruise director was rarely out. She had a team of assistant cruise directors who were everywhere. We rarely saw any senior staff. We ate at the buffet for all of our meals as we are plant-based. There were great selections for us here. The staff was courteous and available. There were always tables available. I was disappointed that the lemonade was not in the machines for self-serve. We always had to ask someone to get it. We had purchased alcohol for in the room and we would use the lemonade and orange juice as a mixer. The Captain's Circle parties were late in the week both times. There was no draw for Suite perks like the laundry and bar set-up -only a free bottle of wine. In St Thomas we went to Trunk Bay Beach. It is a long boat ride and a long taxi ride for a short visit at a beautiful beach. We were warned that there were no facilities and were encouraged to buy drinks and food on the boat. The location had a bar, food truck, washrooms and showers. While in St Martin we walked the 20 min to the shops and beach. Here we went to Burger Madness and rented 2 chairs with umbrella, 5 drinks of choice (we had beer and Smirnoff) and wifi for $30. The man here was not pushy and most accomodating for the drink selection. The staff at the restaurant were friendly. The burgers were amazing! We walked down past the second pier, but the men here made us feel very uncomfortable. Back in FLL, we went to Walgreens to buy more sunscreen and juice. It is a 15 minute walk down the street. We went on an Air-boat ride and visited Flamingo Gardens. So worth it! The host was great. We were supposed to be back at the ship at 1:30, but he thought that was too soon, so he choose returning at 2:30. This meant we had to plan for lunch off the ship, but there was not much free time at these locations. We didn't get to see much of the park as we were waiting for our food with a lot of other people. The second week of our cruise was a bit disappointing. We had terrible weather in Grand Cayman. They stopped sending tenders when the water got too rough to dock, but they had no way of getting anyone off the island. It took over 4 hours to hire the larger ferries to transport Princess people back to the ship. The other 5 ships were having no difficulty getting their passengers too and from the island with these ferry boats. Holland America even provided umbrellas, sandwiches and bottled water for their guests. Princess staff stayed behind the restricted gates and didn't update us at all. We were hundreds of guests left standing in line in the pouring rain for hours waiting to go back. In Cozumel we were supposed to disembark at 10am. Our meeting time for our excursion was 10:20. The Medallion system went down and they were unable to get people off the ship. There was little communication around this. Staff would look at the ground when walking by and had no answers about what was happening. We were in massive lines on board until 1130 when we got off only to have to walk through the crowded duty free shops and then get searched to look for fruit by security before exiting the pier. When we got to the shore excursion staff, she told us the ferry had already departed and we would get a refund. Ugh! While waiting on board, we had asked at the shore excursion desk if we could cancel as we had missed the meeting time. She said "No" as we still had the opportunity to get off the ship and they might wait for us. We went for a drink and lunch at Fat Tuesday's, walked around the pier shops and went back on board for the rest of the day. The vendors here were extremely pushy. Jamaica was a great day. The pier shops here were very clean and the staff was not pushy at all. It made a pleasant time touring around. We went to the Green Grotto caves. Good experience. We're disappointed in Princess's lack of communication over some major events. Overall, the experience on board was good
