8th cruise and 1st cruise on NCL. The plus’ -Ship: was beautiful but not laid out very well. Cabin was adequate but balcony was very small. 2 chairs and a tint table is al that fit. -Entertainment: was OK. Really enjoyed Guilty Pleaaure band playing in Syd Norman’s club. Had to make reservations for some of the shows which is ridiculous. Some of the shows cost. That’s a first for us. -Service: Dining room the first 3 nights was terrible. Took 2 1/2 to 3 hours to get they dinner. 4th night set in Jennipher’s section and the service was great. George was our waiter and he was great too. We reserved that table every night. So much for freestyle dining. Lines got too long!! Service by bartenders was marginal. Depended on where you were whether you got good service or not. -Cost: the price of the cruise which included the bar package, $50 off per person on excursions, 250 minutes of internet and 1 hour of phone calls was a good price. Once on the ship we stared seeing charges that we didn’t expect. NCL’s private island was free but food and beverages cost and we were charged a service charge and gratuity of 27%. Ridiculous!! Other cruise companies private islands include food and beverages for free. -Excursions: found very few that includes food and beverages. Jamaica-The Horse riding in the surf was a blast! Grand Cayman-our excursion started late because a bus broke down so was rushed they everything. Swimming with the stingrays was great, the turtle farm was great but was rushed thru too fast. Harvest Caye-beautiful island but too expensive. We did the snorkel but was very boring. No colors and very few fish. We purchased the snorkeling package 2 months in advance at 9:30 and received confirmation for that time. When we got on the ship we were moved to 11:00. Was moved because the platinum plus people were given preference so moved us. Unacceptable!! Belize-riverboat cruise was ok, saw manatees, alligators iguanas and monkeys. The crew were a blast!! Costa Maya- we went to the Mayan Kingdom Park!! Was our best excursion!! 5 zip line courses, around 12 water slides, a beautiful lazy river, a pool for lounging and a kids area. Looked pretty new and felt very safe. Cozumel- went on a Dune Buggy and snorkel excursion. Terrible! The dune buggies never left the highway. The snorkeling was pretgood. Saw lots of pretty fish. The guide was terrible. Repeated directions at least 3 times and rushed us out of the snorkeling area and didn’t have time to look at our pictures. Took us to a place to eat and lots of trinkets. We had lots of time at this place!! Too much time. Wouldn’t recommend!!

  • Dune Buggy
The expectation was driving the dune buggies on the dunes, however they never left the highway!! The guide was terrible. Spent too much time giving directions. Repeated directions at least 3 times. The guide rushed us from the snorkel location and wouldn't let us have time to see our pictures or shop. The next place they fed us a decent lunch and they had shopping but didn't have much selection. Wouldn't recommend!!

A beginner snorkel but we did get to see lots of fish. Same guide as the Dune Buggy and again spent too much time repeating directions!!

Very beautiful island and very new. They had a huge beach area and you could rent items like kayaks. Had a zip line but cost $59 for one trip. Had a couple places to eat but food wasn’t included. Nor drinks. Have been on other cruise lines private islands and didn’t have to pay for food or beverages. The food was charged a service charge and gratuity of 27%. Unacceptable!!
