This was the first time that we had cruised and, on speaking with others on the ship I think we chose well! All the flights were on time, which in this day an age I think is amazing! We had a nice room at the Hilton, Fort Lauderdale overlooking the marina, although check-in was rather slow. The next morning we boarded the ship with ease and obtained our sea passes. Being greeted with a glass of chanpagne was a nice touch. I then went up to the spa and made my hair appointments as I had heard that they get booked up! We then explored the ship a little before having a lovely buffetlunch in the Ocean View. The announcement was then made that our staterooms were ready and we found ours and went to unpack. We were very impressed with our stateroom - having heard they were small, we did not agree. It was spacious and everything there we needed. The bathroom was particularly impressive with plenty of room to unpack your toiletries and put away. The large bed was so comfortable we slept well every night. We made good use of our balcony, having breakfast out there most days and sometimes afternoon tea. The ship is truly beautiful, lovely design feautures. Yes it did get crowded around the pool but you could always find somewhere quiet on the ship to relax if you wanted to. We enjoyed all the activites on offer and I was thrilled to find scrapbooking on board! The dining room is stunning and they moved us on the second night to a better table which was nice as it was my husband's 60th that day! We enjoyed all the meals and thought the food was of a high quality. We thought that the shore excursions represented very good value for money, and being first time cruisers felt safer exploring this way. We kissed Dolphins in grand Cayman, canoed down a mangrove swamp in Columbia, did a city tour of Panama where we say ships going through the canal, saw lots of wildlife and flora and fauna in Costa Rica, explored a coral reef in Roatan and shopped in Cozumel. As I say I think for our first cruise we did well in choosing Celebrity and in particular Equinox. The only criticism I have is that we had pre-ordered wine to have with dinner on the web-site. Ass the web-site software was not functioning properly we ordered it under the gifts section. It never arrived! In spite of the fact that we had a print-out of the order with a receipt on they said they never received the order, although some gin and champagne ordered separately did arrive! Therefore we had no wine with dinner until the end of the evening on the first two nights - a fact that made my husband very angry. Never mind it was sorted out eventually. We will definitely cruise with Celebrity again - we can't wait!

We chose well!
