Where to start? First I made arrangements due to dietary requirements as I have gluten intolerance. Get on board and there was no gluten free food except gluten free pizza that was sometimes not bad. Sometimes it was awful. The dining room lectured me about ordering my food the day before even though I had just boarded the ship and gave me very limited options and advised if I did not order the day before they would not have food. The buffet had nothing but really bad gluten free desserts. Princess Cay, besides being a waste of time, had no gluten free food except for fruit. The staff on the Royal Princess was extremely rude. I was scolded every time I asked for gluten free food event though I let them know at the time of booking. i complained about cigarette smoke on our balcony and was lectured by the ships guest relations that I should have known the ships amenities and it was my fault for selecting a room above a smoking area. Over with a few exceptions the ship staff was rude and condescending. It was a long week of putting up with being scolded. Went to the buffet a few minutes before they opened. Food was out and other were helping themselves. My wife had her food yanked out of her had and was yelled at for taking it. Asked for a supervisor who was extremely rude. He then proceeded to grab and squeeze both of us by the shoulder when we asked for his supervisor. There is never an excuse to touch your customers. Now on to the spa. We were celebrating out 15 year anniversary and I decided to schedule a massage for my wife. never did I expect that the massage would leave her in tears and pain. Fist they follow you around the spa and do not give you any privacy. Than she had a awkward massage with no music playing and and the massage was mediocre at best. She let the therapist know she had plantar fasciitis. at the end of the massage she bent her food leading to her yelling in pain and then she informed her the massage was over. She then tried to sell he all sorts of over priced items. When she was leaving the massage in pain and tears my wife let them know she was dissatisfied. There immediate response was that they would let the therapist know she didn't like it. At this point my wife was in tears. A manager came along and actually provided the one of the only resemblance of good customer service that entire week. She listened to my wife apologized and offered her a discount. There are so many instances of poor customer customer service during our week on the Royal Princess. Overall with the exception of our cabin steward, one waitress at the pizza restaurant, the party band and the piano guy, the staff on this ship were terrible. I almost forgot to mention the fitness area fitness area. First it is too small. They charged extra for fitness classes and then tried to sell you overpriced insoles. here is not enough equipment. For example, 5 yoga mats for a ship f over 3000 people. You would think after ripping people off they could afford more yoga mats. I think I own more yoga mats. If you are looking for good food, to be treated with respect and to not be bored out of you mind, go on any other cruise line. We had an awful experience on Princess. I complained to there corporate guest relations who offered me a $150 on board credit and refused to do anything else for us. When I asked for the customer relations manager she told me that i could not talk to anyone above her and any attempt would come right back to her. My advice based on this experience is to read reviews. After our cruise I realized that our experience was a lot more common. I wish i had spent more time researching Princess. I feel ripped off and I enjoyed time with my wife but had a miserable time on the Royal Princess.

Awful experience! Do not cruise with Princess if you are gluten free.

Deluxe Balcony

The cabin was okay. The bed was not overly comfortable. There was a hole in sheets which I thought would lead them to replace them but apparently someone thought that was okay to put on the bed. kind of weird. Cigarette smoke on the balcony. Apparently there was a smoking area below that I was magically supposed to know about as I was lectured about when I complained. Overall the cabin was unimpressive and nothing special.
