This was my mom and I's fifth cruise - but first time with Celebrity Cruises. We chose Celebrity Summit because of a great deal, good reviews and some Caribbean islands we hadn't seen yet. I will write about embarkation harbor, San Juan and after the cruise and its ports. First of all - we will definitely recommend having a few days to explore San Juan and the island of Puerto Rico. Visit the Old San Juan; the city is beautiful with its old, colorful buildings - there is a lot of historical sites to see and shopping to do. Don’t forget to visit Barachina on the main street: Calle de Fortaleza - the restaurant where the Piña Colada cocktail was invented (or so they say at least) and is outstanding tasteful. We wanted to visit the bioluminescent bay but did not have the time to do so, because it is a bit far away from San Juan. We only had two days to see everything, so we chose to stay in and around San Juan. Celebrity Summit might be an old lady - but she is still beautiful and charming. She will be on dry-dock and get a needed modernization in March - but don’t get this wrong. She might lack a little of the modern things, you see on some of the newer and bigger cruise ships - but she is still a very beautiful ship with a lot of nice things to offer. The entertainment at night is fun and the shows are great. The dancers and singers are doing a great job and the comic shows are just as great and funny! The bars and restaurants are amazing and if you enjoy a great drink more than once during the day - consider upgrading. You will get the classic drinking package. The ship is very pretty and maintained considering its age and they are doing a great job with cleaning and maintaining its standards. Cabin: For the first time, we upgraded ourselves and chose a balcony cabin (7072) which was great! We loved the fact that we had a balcony, so we could get out and watch while the ship sailed into the ports. The cabin was always clean and cozy. We thought it to be a little bigger, but there is plenty of storage - just not much space to dance around

A beautiful ship - amazing crew - but awful tourist attactions

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View with Balcony 2B
Cabin 2B 7072
Having a balcony is really great. The cabin is a little small and sometimes it can be difficult to open a closet while opening the door to the bathroom.
But even with its date, the cabin is really great and nice maintained.
