  3. Symphony of the Seas
After cruising on Allure, we thought Symphony would be a great way to assess RCCL’s progress. For us, Symphony crossed the line in the “bigger is better” theme. The ship itself is gorgeous and the cabins have a fresh feel to their design and layout. USB ports, better storage options and virtual windows for inside cabins all made spending time in your cabin more enjoyable. Unfortunately, the mass of unruly, screaming kids running up and down the hallways, combined with late night loud drunks in the passage ways ruined any chance of getting a full nights sleep. From the noticeable reduction in quality food choices to the crowded seating in the Windjammer, Symphony struggles to deal with its 6600+ passenger load. The staff was exceptional in their uniformity of quality service, attentiveness nd courtesy. Our cabin attendant was one of the best we have had in our 25 years of cruising. Still, that couldn’t make up for the bewildering array of mediocre food options, frustrating reservation only entertainment policy and pay-extra-for-it venues saturating the decks. Next cruise will be on a smaller, adult friendly ship.
