We booked this cruise relatively late. We would have preferred Aqua Class or a Suite, but ended up in Concierge Class. The room was extremely worn but very well maintained. The room was overly small, but acceptable given the balcony. Restaurant service was notoriously slow, but polite and the specialty restaurant not worth the money. We were pleased with the entertainment and the spa. The ports of call were generic and acceptable since we booked our excursions elsewhere. Embarkation was very good due to our class of service, but the disembarkation was a mess. Overall, we were pleased we went, but it was the worst or second worst of the 7 cruises we have taken. Embarkation and Disembarking Being in the Concierge Class allowed a smooth check-in experience, but departure was a mess since the ship was moved to a ONE DOOR port. Ouch, it was crowded getting off. As always, guest services is a long wait. The concierge class lunch was fantastic and I was able to spend our departure day at the pool since I brought my suit in my carryon. The bags were barely delivered prior to dinner. Disembarkation bags were well marked and easy to find. The departure lounge for Concierge class was nice. Food Thanksgiving was a nice meal. The rest was rather average. Luckily, my expectations were low. The preparation was good, but the selection and quality poor. The maitre’d was outstanding and got us our same table every night, as we did select dining. That is a nice perk in our room class. We missed Blu, as we dined on it frequently when on Celebrity Reflection. The Tuscan Grille was a huge waste of money. The service nice, but my ribeye steak was so thin I was embarrassed for the waiter who delivered it. In fact, I did not know they could cut steaks that thin. We only did the café for a snack, but it seemed to have a decent selection and excellent service. Dining room service was slow, but very good, polite and responded to all requests, albeit slow. Spa & Gym Since our cruise had lots of kids and seniors, the gym was never crowded and the spa was easy to get in. But, much of the equipment was broken. We did a total of 3 massages and my wife said hers was the best ever. Mine was one of the best. We are going to Thailand soon and asked for the two Thai therapists. They were wonderful. The Persian Garden is a joke and not nearly as good as the Solstice Class ships. Entertainment We never go for the entertainment, but were amazed at the quality. The two comedians were perfect. Each was first class. The Broadway tunes show the last night was fantastic and the aerial dancers blew us away. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing the string duet during our days at sea. Truly beautiful is the way to describe their music. Excursions I have learned to NEVER book these via the ship. Looking for vendors on Cruise Critic or TripAdvisor once again paid on and we had some wonderful excursions. As usual, overhearing the complaints from fellow passengers about ship managed excursions reminds me of my good decision.

Embarkation and Disembarking

Being in the Concierge Class allowed a smooth check-in experience, but departure was a mess since the ship was moved to a ONE DOOR port. Ouch, it was crowded getting off. As always, guest services is a long wait. The concierge class lunch was fantastic and I was able to spend our departure day at the pool since I brought my suit in my carryon. Food

Thanksgiving was a nice meal. The rest was rather average. Luckily, my expectations were low. The preparation was good, but the selection and quality poor. The maitre’d was outstanding and got us our same table every night, as we did select dining. That is a nice perk in our room class. Spa & Gym

Cabin Review

Concierge Class 2
Cabin C2 8064
Room
The room was worn, old and small. This ship is due for a makeover. The service was very good and the room was always extremely clean. The sheets had holes and the bed is much smaller than advertised. But, the staff was amazing. The balcony made the room tolerable. I spent more time on the balcony than in the room. But, the room staff was great.
