Celebrity Solstice Cruise Review by roxytom
- Sail Date: October 2018
- Destination: Australia & New Zealand
- Cabin Type: Deluxe Veranda
Our room attendant kept our rooms cleans but could barely speak English so was very hard to communicate with.
The main dining room staff were gorgeous, kind and fun and the food on board is definitely a grade above Royal Caribbean.
The entertainment was severely lacking and we were very bored most of the time. The evening shows were very hit and miss, the illusionist on the first night, Raymond Crowe, was particularly cringe-worthy. We were told by the Entertainment director at the Rock Show that only half the orchestra had boarded the ship for our cruise.
The wait to be served at the bars could be up to 20 minutes which became very frustrating when you just wanted a bottle of water or a can of soft drink.
The staff at Bacio cafe were very sour and happy to tell you off if you ordered incorrectly or not as they liked.
Overall we felt like we had paid to go on the staffs holiday and everyone we spoke with onboard said similar. Other travellers said they had been told by staff that only half the crew had arrived on time for our cruise. Not sure exactly the correct reason but this cruise was a major letdown and disappointment. We wouldn’t cruise with Celebrity again:
