Norwegian Star Cruise Review by greenfit
- Sail Date: September 2018
- Destination: Mediterranean
- Cabin Type: Obstructed Oceanview
Overall it was a great choice to celebrate our 25th anniversary; but two things MUST be improved. One of our excursions ended up in an unmitigated disaster, with people fighting to get back to the ship and the STAFF were very young people, not skilled at handling angry and frustrated customers. Yes, the weather was band; but no backup plan is unacceptable! Even more unacceptable, was being sloughed off back on the ship.
Secondly, the quality of the food at the Versailles dining lounge was poor. My wife is too nice; but her dried out chicken was a disgrace.
NOW all good news. The ship was a great choice. Our room steward, Derick, was amazing. so the was Johnnie, around at many places. Another gentleman, from Grenada, made my wife so happy with the best virgin drinks made with a big smile.
Our cabin had two issues; one a partially blocked view and More importantly ergonomics. Why the bunk bed on the wall blocking easy access to the bed? As well, on the other side a table too long, blocking easy access to the bed on the other side?
The buffet food was always great in the indoor facility. Outdoors on deck 12, pushing overcooked hamburgers was or should be embarrassing to the cruise lines.
The nightly shows were awesome; except for the last one. some kind of Spanish/English theme. funny how we remember the bad ones more; but seriously, all the other shows were Fabulous.
Boarding was very poor. add more processing and reward those of us who are already preregistered with expedited boarding.
WHERE IS OUR CREDIT ON OUR AMEX? it has been a month!

Athens (Piraeus)This was a goof option. Take it, hop on hop off allows you to see many of the ancient sites. The weather was bad and our mood too.View All 12,792 Athens (Piraeus) Cruise Port Reviews

Katakolon (Olympia)We just got off the ship and walked around town, really close to the ship. Had delicious cappuccinos and free wifi. Bought a few items in the town. Later we heard people saying they cancelled a few tours based on their experience with the first on, were the weather created serious problems that the cruise line sloughed off.View All 550 Katakolon (Olympia) Cruise Port Reviews
