  3. Norwegian Breakaway
We chose this cruise because it was 11 days. It fit the requirements of time to be on the ship and enjoy it, and many ports of call. The best of both worlds. Bars and lounges were lots of fun. Outside Maltings Bar and the Bliss Lounge were themost fun. Paul and Jerry at the otside bar were AWESOME. Buffets were varied and tasty. Specialty restaurants were varied but we were only wowed by the Teppanyaki. What Italian restaurant does NOT have lasagna? La Cucina restaraunt on the Breakaway. Embarkation is like herding cattle, 4000 people...but we did finally get through the maze. We were supposed to leave New York at 4:00 but didn't leave until 6:00. Didn't know that extra charges were applied to your drink prices in both New York and Puerto Rico. That had to be explained when I checked my bill. Our last night we ran into a storm that lasted the entire next day. We had a medical emergency on board that took us off of our couse and delayed our entry into New York, which made most of the passengers miss connecting transportation. We were then scheduled to get in between 5-7:30pm. Some were able to make changes others, not. On the same day a person on a cargo ship fell overboard and we had to assist in the search and recovery. We waited fo rhours waitng to hear what was going on. We got into New York and had to sit in the channel for about 3 hours due to the weather. Debarkation began at 10 pm. OMG! We finally made our way into the hallways for the trek out and onto the search for luggage which is the worst part of any cruise. That ordeal was just that. There has to be a better way to get luggage. The worst ending to a really nice cruise.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony Stateroom
Cabin BA 11276
Cabin was small but livable. Bathroom was a decent size. We were able to move around in there. Balcony was so very small. There was just enough room for two chairs and the tiniest of tables...was not really a table.
