This cruise went down hill from the beginning on the pier. One of the cruisers in our group went to check in and found out her balcony stateroom ( she had all her edocs) was sold to someone who bid on an upgrade from an inside cabin 4 days before sail date. In order for her to go on the completely booked cruise she had to REPAY and was treated terribly by the port staff ( who know NOTHING). We waited until EVERYONE was on board ( 5 hrs) to find her a state room ( we are sure they were waiting for a no show). Once on the ship we found out that there were over 4000 people on board but not enough seating for shows, poolside, theater etc to accommodate that many people. My grandmother would describe this situation as “trying to put 10 pounds of flour in a 5 pound bag”. Bigger is NOT always better. I sailed on the Gem and never had a problem seeing a show. On the Breakaway the shows were all filled and not excepting reservation. We got to see one show in the 11 days we were on board. We finally got into comedy act 5 minutes before it was over too........a 45 minute show.... Pool lounges were ALL claimed by 7:30 am with towels placed on them but no one sitting in them. Plus the pool is way too small for the amount of people on board. In the Atrium seats were claimed in the morning and the people would sleep in them until an event came up ( the same people every day). Then medical emergency that took us 6 hrs off course, patient passed away (very sad)....but no information as to why we were sailing towards Cuba. I realize that there are situations that come up but keep the passengers informed!!! Over all, if it were not for the crew members in the bars & restaurants who had wonderful personalities and work their tails off to make the customers happy this cruise would have been a total disaster. One other thing, NCL offers a drink package that you get top shelf booze but NO BOTTLE WATER....you have to buy bottled water for $4.99 per bottle. That just seems silly to me. We had several medical emergencies, one death, nor eastern storm, search and rescue, port closure due to weather ( none of which was NCL’s fault ) but I feel we should have been better informed AND Wi-Fi should have been open to ALL passengers while we were stopped in the channel for 5 hrs so that we could try to rearrange our travel connections due to so many delays (there was very spotty cell service on board because of the storm). At least give us a chance to make arrangements. Very bad experience all around.

Worse cruise EVER

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony Stateroom
Cabin BA 13812
Cabin was perfect, I made my own bed and kept it tidy for my steward ( that’s just me).
Cabins are pretty small, I can’t imagine sharing it but one couple in my group did and said it was quite cramped.
Deck 14 Inside Cabins, Balcony Cabins, Suite Cabins
