This was our 7th Princess Cruise. Pre-Cruise, we arrived in San Juan on Saturday 2-13-10. Our flight arrived on time to San Juan. Taxi service is regulated from the airport to the hotel so there is no long hauling allowed. We stayed overnight using our Marriott Rewards at the Marriott Stellaris Resort Hotel and Casino. Our room was in the Cabana section of the hotel with a partial ocean view. Others have commented on a slight musty odor in the rooms at the hotel. We found this to be true and can attribute it to the old carpeting and humidity. It was not a deal breaker. The room was comfortable for our pre-cruise stay. The grounds and beach area were beautiful. We did not eat at the hotel opting for local cuisine. We left the hotel by cab the next morning 2-14-10, to the Pan American Pier. We arrived at 11am and had a short wait to a holding area. Once we were cleared, we got our cruise cards and went to the duty free store and purchased alcohol to bring on board. We placed it in our carry on luggage and went through security without a problem. We dropped our bags in our cabin and went to the coral dining room for a wonderful lunch. The ship set sail later that evening as we enjoyed the ships amenities. We attended the meet and Greet at the Aft pool bar and met several other cruise critic members that we ran into during the cruise . It was nice to chat with others in person and share the days experiences. We highly recommend that you join your Roll Call once you book your cruise. There are so many excellent ideas and information shared with other cruisers. There were very few children on board. Maybe it is due to the cost of flying the family down to San Juan as compared to the Florida Ports. We at at the specialty restaurants on 3 nights. We ate twice at the Crown Grill serving excellent Fillet Mignon and 4oz Lobster Tails and Sabbatinis where we both ate the Veal Chop. We also were fortunate to eat at the Chefs Table with 4 other couples.Chef Cerrada and Maitre D Piasano performed their magic. It is a must do. We enjoyed the comedians on Board but must say that the production shows have seen better days. We hope that Princess can find better entertainment programs. There are many talented performers waiting to be discovered unfortunately the performers on this ship were poor. Hopefully there will be some new shows of the same old productions. DisEmbarkation was smooth and easy. San Juan Airport was crowded and you must go through the Agricultural Inspection.
