  3. Celebrity Summit
We had booked the Canada/New England cruise around two years ago after travelling on the Celebrity Solstice and were eagerly looking forward to it. We were disappointed that our second Celebrity cruise didn't live up to the hype. While the majority of the crew tried hard, the cruise was let down by poor organisation (particularly by the shore excursion team and by security in the embarkation process at ports). At Bar Harbor, one shore excursion cancelled at short notice and everyone listed on that excursion was keep waiting in the Theatre for a considerable time, with little information and without being allowed to get onto the tenders and to travel into the port. No alternative arrangements were offered. This resulted in a lost morning at port for us. We had a second excursion booked later that day and were told to meet 'at the pier', when we got to the pier there was no-one in sight and we eventually found the shore excursion contact waiting in the carpark near a bus. For the embarkation at ports, security seemed to have difficulty coping with the many elderly and infirm guests. It took a long time to board the ship and, at one port, guests were kept waiting in the rain on the gangway. The Summit was allocated poor berths in Quebec and in Halifax, requiring a bus to get into town. Loading the buses took some time due to the high number of infirm and elderly guests. Service was inconsistent at the bars onboard. Often the service was slow and on some occasions we were told that certain drinks weren't available at that bar, when we had had those drinks there on another night. Disappointingly one of the better bars, the Revelations Lounge on deck 11, was not open until around 7:00pm/7:30pm each night as it was reserved for Celebrity Elite and above clients. On being turned away from this area, we felt like second-class citizens and not valued by Celebrity. Finally, we had asked that our account be charged in US dollars. This was ignored and the charge went through in Australian currency.

Cabin Review

Concierge Class 1
Cabin C1 7208
The cabin was in a good location; away from general traffic. We had a large balcony. While showing signs of wear, on the whole the cabin was well maintained.
