Celebrity Summit Cruise Review by DLEO
- Sail Date: August 2018
- Destination: Bermuda
- Cabin Type: Inside Stateroom 10
Leaving and returning from Bayonne was easy, check in and out was smooth, no issues.
Staff was very accommodating from our steward, to waiters, bartenders and general all around crew, they always had a happy greeting. Good for customer service!
Yes, she is an older boat but we found no fault in her cleanliness, maintenance and maybe lack of glitz, that is so appealing to others. Food was varied and plentiful both at buffet and main dining room. Patrick, the cruise director, kept everyone busy with many activities that you could join or not. We enjoyed the comedians Michael Wilson and Carl Banks.
The Frankie Valli “December 63” tribute group had everyone singing and using happy feet to keep up with the beat!
Royal dockyards has changed dramatically since our visit in the early 80’s. Bermuda tourism did a grand job in transforming this area into a pleasant shopping and historical
site. It’s very clean, civilized, locals are helpful ,friendly and there is easy access to the Hamilton and St George Ferries. We did both and enjoyed the ride and time off in these lovely areas. Didn’t visit any beaches, felt they would be too crowded with both NCL and Celebrity in port..next time, we will return. The only excursion we tried to book was a sunset catamaran ride but it was sold out, book it early or before you leave, heard it was nice! We did everything else on our own.
Our interior room was comfortable and clean. Browsed through the many ship stores but shopping was not essential for us.
Think about purchasing a beverage package - just water, beer and wine really add up!
As almost the last cruise before school reopening in our area, there were quite a few families aboard. It was delightful to see them all having such a great time. The rest of us 70+ ers rounded out group and we were happy as well. Just do it!!!!
