Oasis of the Seas Cruise Review by marycoleman
- Sail Date: July 2018
- Destination: Eastern Caribbean
- Cabin Type: Ocean View Balcony
Pros: The food was very good, although the food on the smaller ships has been better
Wait staff was excellent with the exception of one night.
If you enjoy the rock climbing walls, flowriders, ice skating, sports court, you'll have at least some fun.
Cons: The boat is run down and in need of renovations. Carpet in hallways was filthy, beds are sagging and sheets and towels had hair in them. Cabin service was average. Specialty restaurants book up first day, you can get lunch but even the mexican place was $25 per person for lunch. Come on! They say room service is free, but there's a $9 service charge. All of the theatre and water shows were cancelled because of "technical" problems. They substituted with staff singers. Horrendous. Pools were always crowded with people crammed in the tiny pools. The solarium sounded nice because it was for adults, but it is so hot in there because it's closed in, you couldn't stand to be in there. Putt putt is small and sad and the zip line lasts 7 seconds and not at all worth the trouble and wait.
I caught myself thinking several times how much better a week in a nice hotel on the beach would have been over this. My husband hadn't had a vacation in 2 years and was really looking forward to this. Very disappointing and we're not sure we're willing to give RC another try.
