Ok, so we booked this cruise ship as we have a 3 year old and thought it would be more catered for families , which is correct. Lots and lots of families with lots and lots of teenagers everywhere ! Also we have sailed from Southampton previously , twice with Celebrity cruise and once with P & O and have enjoyed the experience of not having to fly . The ship is great for families there is lots to do . But totally geared up for the British crowd . Too much so. There are just too many people , there is no space , anywhere. There is a scramble every morning to get a sun bed which we’ve never experienced before on any of our cruise holidays. Just the shear number of people wanting to enjoy the sun is too much at sea days . Once you have got a sun bed you can’t leave it for longer than 30 minutes as they will remove your towel, which is great for the people that go out at 6 am and put towels down but don’t go on them till later in the day. But As you can imagine that adds stress to an already stressful experience , especially with a young child as all they want to do is be in and out of every pool. And if you’re on your own your constantly watching the time hoping not to lose your bed. So having to tag team with each other as who is playing and who is on the sun bed . Also they are crammed in like sardines in a tin once your on one. Just too close to others for my liking. The staff are great , I can’t fault them at all but there’s just not enough of them and the ones that are here are under a lot of pressure it seems. Food is not great. The worst we’ve ever had on a ship. It’s not up to standard, inedible steak in the dining room ,the buffet is budget offering. The quality is just not here. Nothing is quality . Not even the coffee. Too much selling , every treatment they are desperately trying to sell you more products which makes you feel so uncomfortable. I did not like that at all. I want to relax but everywhere you go someone’s trying to sell you something. Excursions as always , overpriced . Book your own taxi or share with someone. Our cabin a junior suite , whilst plenty big enough was tired and dated. Scuff marks on the walls and ceiling and tatty interior. Needs a good deep clean. If you’re after a British seaside resort holiday at see then this is for you. But for us baked beans , alphabites and pie for dinner at the buffet is not our idea of holidays . We will not be back on this ship . Ever . Royal Caribbean must up there game for the price we paid this is not good enough. Disappointing and quite upsetting . Overall we had a nice family holiday being together but it could’ve and should’ve been better .
