  3. Carnival Victory
We cruise often, and this was about our 15th cruise. (I lost count). This is our 4th cruise with Carnival. Our first one was on Inspiration out of Tampa, which we really enjoyed. Our 2nd Carnival cruise was on Imagination out of Miami, which was just okay. It wasn't perfect, but it wasn't completely awful either. Our 3rd Carnival cruise was on Paradise out of Tampa, and it was before the ship went through dry dock, and it was absolutely horrible. I won't even go into detail because this review is for Victory. However, Paradise was the ship that made us decide not to cruise with Carnival again for over 3 years. But then came Victory. She had just been through dry dock, and had a lot of new things added. We are so glad that we chose Victory for our vacation, because it was the ship that made us decide that it's okay to cruise with Carnival again. :) EMBARKATION: Went very smoothly. CABIN: We had cabin 6432, which is a cabin that has an extended balcony near the aft of the ship. This was the best cabin we've ever had on any cruise ship we've been on, and our stateroom attendant was the best. It was spotless, and we loved the extended balcony. CREW: The entire crew that we had the pleasure to meet, were so polite and nice, and made us feel some welcomed. DINING: We are buffet people, and prefer the buffet, because we like to eat when we're hungry, and prefer not to sit and be waited on while we wait for our meal. Therefore, I can't say how the main dining is, however, we found the buffet wonderful. The hamburger at Guy's Burgers were delicious, and their fixings bar for the burger is absolutely amazing. The pizza was very good, as well. ENTERTAINMENT: We didn't attend the main shows, however, we relaxed in the atrium of the ship and there was a lot of good entertainment there. They had a male country singer that was very good, and they had entertainers that played the steel drums, which were also very good. The entire ship was very clean, and there isn't anything I can say bad about our cruise. I would cruise on Victory again without hesitation. We plan on spending our cruise vacation for 2019 on another Carnival ship, because they have an Eastern Caribbean itinerary that we are interested in. We just haven't decided which ship yet.

Wonderful cruise.... Wonderful ship

Port & Shore Excursion Reviews

  • Best of Cozumel
The actual name of our excursion was "Ancient Culture/Mayan Ruins & Island Sightseeing". It was $64.99 per person, and it was not worth it. We always book our excursions through the cruise line, just to insure that the ship will wait for us, if we are late returning to the ship. Our tour guide was very extensive about the history of the ruins, but then he would go into detail about things that were off-subject of the ruins, and we were standing in like 90 degree heat, even though most of the areas were shaded, and we spent hours and hours standing and listening, and listening. When we arrived at the ruins, it was almost like it was a sales pitch to buy things from the small shops that were there. They also made us leave our water bottles on the bus, and then if we wanted any water, we had to buy bottles of water from their small shop for $2.50 per bottle. We stopped at a beach on the way back, where you would have time to get a drink, and take some photos, and then it was back on the bus. I would have rather spent more time at the beach (even though it wasn't a beach you could swim at), and less time at the ruins. Knowing what I know about the excursion, if I had to do it over again, I would not have paid this much for this excursion.

  • Key West
We always enjoy Key West when we visit. I just wish we would have had more time. Our ship arrived early, (around 7:00am), and we had to be back on the ship around 1:00pm.
