The Escape is a great cruise ship. We traveled in the Haven this time and found the experience top notch in most areas. The staff were quite amazing and we met some great people. The downfall was the number of children staying in the Haven paired with the lack of parental oversight. When we ate at the Haven restaurant the children were literally allowed the jump from chair to chair, yell, run around, etc. The meals were loud and not what I at all expected- we had to plan our meals around the times the multiple families with their wild children ate or avoid the haven all together. The pool in the haven is quite small and there are no times where children were excluded from that area as well- they were equally not held in check making the experience of sitting my the pool miserable.
We were also talked into purchasing the transportation from the ship to the airport with the belief it was a seamless process and we would not have to 'wait' in the long lines those who opted for a taxi had. This could not have been further from the truth- we ended up paying for both the bus and a taxi when we stood in the sun for several minutes only to be told the next two buses were already full. I will never do that again!
Overall my experience was a good one- wish they had a haven trip limited to adults or a time when the pool and restaurant were without children.
