We had such high expectations of celebrity cruises after being recomended by friends and our travel agent. This was Our fourth cruise and had done NCL and Royal Caribbean before and had been told celebrity was higher grade. We were immediately disappointed with the condition of the ship. We had a balcony cabin that was out dated with old fashioned curtains and grubby appearance. We named the cafe the wilder beast cafe for the chaotic scenes, lack of seating and service. It reminded us of a greasy spoon cafe. We stopped eating there as found the experience too stressful. We found the staff generally unfriendly, reluctant to help, almost miserable in their work. There were a few that were friendly and helpful but few and far between. The bar staff were reluctant to serve and quite miserable at times. My husband did have to mention the attitude to one of the staff and this then improved. This was also the opinion of many others and from those who had been with celebrity before. We were fortunate to have the premium drinks package as the drinks very expensive, and we were able to have unlimited bottle water and specialty coffee. The food in general was mediocre most times and we decided not to have specialty dining as we had done on other cruises. After a few days we got used to the boat and did enjoy the cruise in general. Not sure if we’d sail with celebrity again.

Cabin Review

Family Veranda
Cabin FV
Dated, old fashioned curtains. Small bathroom. No shower gel, we were told our cabin was not entitled to any but my husband insisted we should have some and our attendant then replenished our cabin regularly.
