Overall we had an excellent vacation and we came home with outstanding memories. The following is more critical, because, well, this is Cruise Critic, and that is what we do, right? We choose this cruise because it fit our schedule and budget. Was apprehensive about the size of the ship, but turned out to not be an issue as RCCL has done a great job of making the ship feel smaller through its various neighborhoods. The only times we felt the largeness was when trying to get on the ship and while waiting for the Flow Rider. The staterooms are great and the food was excellent. We prefer the split bathroom concept on Disney cruise lines, but even with the 4 of us in one stateroom, we found the singular lavatory sufficient. The only issue that had an impact on our vacation was the entertainment. We went to 4 shows. 1. The Oasis of Dreams diving show was cool to watch, but neither my wife nor myself could understand what the story line was. 5 of 10 stars. 2. The ice skating show based on Hans Christian Andersen was fabulous - 10 stars. 3. Cats - good timeless story but the performing talent was average. 4. The Come Fly with Me had some fun moments, but it has one scene where the a male and female acrobat descend on the stage in a very sensual position wearing nude colored tights. There was not much left to the imagination and was certainly not appropriate for my 12 year old son and 6 year old daughter. It was listed as family appropriate and we wish we had known what to expect prior to attending. Our 6 year old daughter had a great time in Kids camp and begged to stay longer. This staff was fabulous and awesome. Our 12 year old was in a bit of a rut. The teen camp was mostly older kids 14+, leaving him in an awkward position. Too old for kids camp and not quite old enough for teenager camp. He found the putt putt golf to be a blast and probably played 25 rounds, but would really like to have had a teen club for the 12-14 year old crowd. Dining - we had the My Time dining. Frankly, we still don't know what that means. We know it meant we didn't have a set dining time, but it seems that we could also make a reservation if we wanted to. Nobody could really explain to us the benefits of it. As such, we would show up to the restaurant when we wanted and were typically seated within 10 minutes. However, we had a different table and wait staff each evening. We don't think this is how it was intended to be.
