We chose this itinerary primarily for the 3-day stay in Rio, and it did not disappoint. The experience of Carnival in the Sambadrome was unforgettable and something no one should miss - it’s that much fun and that special. Check in - smooth, but MANY people arrived without visas for Brazil and WERE NOT ALLOWED TO BOARD! So, if you are going to Brazil, and you are from the US, you need a visa. They are expensive, but not hard to get. Cabin - we had an Oceanview on deck 2 just past midship, and it was great. It was a good-sized window and made the room feel even more spacious. Towels were a little bit on the thin side, but everything else was great. Crew - the best in our 30 cruises. They were friendly, professional and made the onboard experience just very special. We especially enjoyed the coffee shop (Al Bacio) and the Spa Cafe staffs. Food - excellent. The Executive Chef was visible and did some of the food demonstrations himself. He was energetic and had a great sense of humor, and his restaurants were putting out great food. The main dining room choices were somewhat limited, and since we were on a back-to-back, they were repetitive. We also dined in all 3 specialty restaurants - Qsine, Tuscan Grille and Sushi on 5. We didn’t pay full price for any of them - there was always a deal to be had if you asked around. Qsine was our favorite, but the Sushi restaurant was a very close second! Ports: Santos is not a great port city. We did a self tour on the trolley and to Mount Serrat via the fincular - enjoyable because we were with friends, but nothing special. Ilhabela and Buzios were beautiful, but we only stayed out 3-4 hours in each because it was so warm. We did a ship’s tour in Ilhabela and a private tour (Buzios Trolley) in Buzios. Both were “good” - but not great. Rio was a blast. We did the 3-day package with DoBrazilRight and it was great - saved a bunch of money and had great seats at the Sambadrome. Highly recommend them. Did a ship’s tour for Punta del Este (good) and a private walking tour in Monteivideo (Real English Tours - exccellent). Entertainment - great shows in the evening - cruise director Alejandro was fun and the talent was among the best we’ve seen. Production shows were familiar but very well performed. Celebrity Infinity orchestra is probably the best we’d heard in 30 days. Good amount of activity - game shows, trivia, etc.

Great Itinerary, Great Crew

Cabin Review

Ocean View 7
Cabin 07 2170
Comfortable; adequate storage room, although one large suitcase would not fit under the bed so took up floor space in the closet. Had a small couch that converted to a sleeper.
Deck 2 Inside Cabins, Outside Cabins
