We chose this cruise for the itinerary and also we had not sailed before on Celebrity line. Many friends ensured us it was comparable with if not better than Princess line, which we love. So we eagerly awaited embarkation in Singapore. This went extremely well, no long queues. The balcony cabin was very nice and bright with plenty of storage and had a good bathroom. So far, so good. However getting our bearings by wandering around as you do on first cruise day! - I was disappointed by the Constellation....no Wow factor at all! Everywhere seemed dark and uninviting, even the MDR seemed dark unless you sat in the central open area - both sides had a lowish ceiling as the upstairs part was directly above. Our first evening meal was a disaster, the service was slow and the waiters seemed unsure. It depended upon where you sat in the dining room, as some 'stations' were excellent service. The food was uninspiring and meat dishes were mostly served with 2 desert spoons of potato puree ( called mash) and if you were lucky 2/3 small pieces of carrot and same size portion of one other veg. Strangely enough, one eve the waiter at that particular table came along with an extra dish full of veg + one full of fries, without anyone requesting them! No consistency. The so called rule of not booking sunbeds was a laugh! Unless you were on deck by 8am, then forget it! This was a great shame as one of the positives about the ship was some lovely areas with rattan type beds etc. Even the cinema area had all used as sunbeds so if you went up there to watch a film, you stood little chance of finding a spot to sit. The only time we did was for the late film at about 10.30 pm! Pool staff did nothing about moving towels from beds when no one went near them for some time. Other ships enforce this rule/ request! As usual drinks were very expensive once the 18% was added and so were the coffees in the cafe $5.95 for a latte!! I normally only write positive reviews as it takes a lot to build up before I feel the need to write it as we found. I'm sure other cruisers may well have enjoyed the same cruise. One big positive was our lovely concierge cabin steward called Ambrose....polite, professional and helpful.

Cabin Review

Concierge Class 2
Cabin C2 8051
Lovely size, plenty of storage, in fact best storage we have had on a cruise. Nice light colours, comfy sofa, T making facilities, nice bathroom, not too small. Balcony OK but not very big with 2 semi reclining chairs and a small table. Bed very comfortable.
Deck 8 Inside Cabins, Outside Cabins, Balcony Cabins, Suite Cabins
