I wanted to sail a 12-day cruise and was missing the energy of NYC. This cruise fit the bill. I am so VERY HAPPY I did! WOW! From the moment I arrived in NYC I was WOWED!!! Embarkation was so easy! I decided to embark early - 9:30 and I was on the ship by 10:30 and having lunch and a glass of champagne at O'Sheehan's by noon. I purchased a spa pass online before my cruise, so took advantage of the spa and some of their services ... fire and ice man/pedi during Sail Away was fabulous; my massage the next morning with Jennalyn was excellent; I saw Dr. Wu, Acupuncturist, for three sessions and he worked wonders for my back/radiculopathy in my legs and arms (I've been pain-free since my return December 15th - the first time in 4 years). The LeBistro and their service staff are amazing - a big shout out to my servers Aislynn, Susan and Shyrine!!! I ended up eating there 4 times it was so delicious and they were so hospitable. Ocean Blue also fabulous with fresh seafood and incredible service as well. Cagney's Steakhouse was also my home away from home ... incredible service and they made me feel so special! I LOVED the Maltings Bar with Reinan, the head bartender! WOW! Talk about above and beyond customer service and excellent mixologist. I met so many really wonderful people at Maltings! Shaker's Martini Bar had an awesome Martini Tasting that was really FUN! I LOVED Charlie Love at Fat Cats Jazz and Blues ... loved dancing every time I took advantage of their music. I cruised in a balcony cabin on the 8th deck which was really awesome and in close proximity to many restaurants and all of my fun hangouts. I also enjoyed the Rock of Ages production and Burn the Floor! Incredible talent and dancing! WOW! I also took advantage of Wine Lovers, The Musical and it was really fun and excellent food and win. I took advantage of the Cruise Next program after the director of the program explained it to me. Great program! Did I mention I traveled solo this cruise? It WAS SO RELAXING AND RESTFUL!!! I've already booked my next cruise on The Breakaway October 27 through November 11, 2018 (repositioning cruise from NYC to NOLA - Caribbean Itinerary)! I can hardly wait!!!

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony Stateroom
Cabin BB 8178
The cabin was excellent. It took me a bit to figure out the cooling/heating system, but once I figured it out I was able to keep the room at a nice temperature. I think the carpet probably needs a good shampoo or to be replaced before too long. It is getting a bit worn. My cabin steward was very accommodating, though I didn't really need anything except an iron and ironing board the first night.
