35 plus cruises, mostly on Princess, but 4- 5 on RCCL. we have always wanted to cruise on an Oasis class ship and that was the main reason we booked this cruise. Cruising out of Port Canaveral is also a big plus. . the ship itself exceeded our high expectations...it is truly AMAZING. we have been to all the ports many times so the ship was the "port of call" for us. RCCL embarkation and setup at PC is the best we have ever seen. (In spite of an long delay in boarding due to extended cleaning for Noro. ) self disembarkation was AMAZING....we were off the ship and through immigration by 6:30! the building was really designed well to handle 6000 people wanting to go home. Our balcony room overlooking central park was very unique and we would certainly book one again. we wouldn't do the boardwalk balcony rooms due to the level of noise and level of activity in that section, but thats just us.... Our room was clean, had a great shower and bathroom (compared to princess) and was well appointed. June, our steward was the BEST! the level of service , in particular bar service, was almost non existent. we got the unlimited booze package and the entire week .... with the exception of the pool areas during the day.....MAYBE once, were asked if we wanted bar service while in a bar. After the first day we gave up and just assumed we had to go up to the bar and order directly from the bartender. That would be ok- if they didn't hit us with the automatic gratuity...which RCCL just increased the cost of. we tried breakfast one morning at johnny rockets. it wasn't crowed yet (maybe half the tables empty) and it appeared they had plenty of staff present. After 15 minutes ...and only receiving menus to look it, we left. Against sure appeared to be a lack of supervision and organization. Watching bar staff in a couple of the bars stand over in a corner for 10-15 minutes at a time...literally while folks sat and waited for a drink, really spoke of the lack of supervisory control. We observed tables full of empty plates and glasses go untouched for 30-45 minutes at a time. Service in the windjammer was hit and miss...some of the staff worked VERY hard ,really overworked, while others wandered aimlessly, again i wondered where the supervisors were? Food is so subjective i won't comment, other than the Mexican restaurant was very good. we really avoided, the entire port side of the ship near the pools and the casino area, because of the intense amount of cigarette smoke. It was hard to avoid however based on wind direction. in summary, the Oasis class ships are so incredible that we may do one again. probably not.

Incredible ship, service....not so much
