my husband and I chose the cruise because it gave us the opportunity to see several ports in a few days. We decided to extend our cruise in Rome for 2 more days. The transfer from the airport to the cruise part went very smooth. The embarkation at the port in Barcelona was very smooth. Cruise personnel was stationed throughout the ship to help us find our cabins. Immediately when we came on board we noticed the hand washing stations everywhere. We also noticed everything being wiped off repeatedly. Our cabin was very spacious. We loved the heated floors and fog-free mirrors in the bathroom. We also took full advantage of all the bathroom products. While we waited for our luggage to be brought on board we explored the ship. Due to its smaller size it was easy to explore. Crews was always available to answer questions we had. The ship had several restaurants. Two of the restaurants required reservations. We ate at Manfredi's and The Chef's Table. Manfredi's had a menu you could choose from. There was no menu for the Chef's Table. It was restrictive; e.g. during our cruise they had lamb several times on the menu. Not everyone likes lamb. Our preferred eating venue was the World Café. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner there. It gave us a chance to sit and meet our fellow travelers. The food was absolutely delicious. They also had a great variety of options. During our stay we also used the steam room and the ice grotto. What a rush. It was too cold for us to use the outdoor pool. We loved the Wintergarten where we took our afternoon tea. We loved our daily excursions. They provided lectures to prepare us for our next day excursions. We enjoyed our excursions and even booked several additional ones. Unfortunately, due to bad weather, we had to miss our port call in Marseille. We went to our next port of call in St. Tropez. I would recommend that in the winter time, since most of the stores are closed, to skip that port and add another day in Florence. Two days in Florence were not enough. Since we booked an excursion to a Tuscan vineyard and our trip to Pisa we were not even able to see Florence. We took full advantage of the evening entertainment. We enjoyed the soft classical music in the atrium, we loved the Viking band and the FABFOUR (another band). We spent a lot of our time in the Thorshavn bar We also enjoyed the entertainment they offered in the multipurpose theater. The service on the ship was impeccable. Our room steward was always around and very helpful. Our waiter knew after a day what we liked to drink or eat. He gave us suggestions and we enjoyed them. The officers of the ship were always walking around during the cruise, checking on things, making sure we had everything we needed. After hours we talked to the musicians and the cruise director. It felt like you were part of a family. My husband and I enjoyed it so much that we booked another cruise right away. We are sold on the Viking concept. The size of the ship is perfect for us. We don't need no casinos or big show productions. Small and intimate is what you get with Viking. We had a wonderful time.

See a lot in a relatively short time

Cabin Review

Cabin 5090
The cabin was very spacious and offered all the luxuries like plenty of storage, complimentary daily stocked mini fridge, nespresso coffee maker, safe, bathroom with heated flooring and steam-free mirror.
When our steward noticed the shower had been used when he did the turn-down for the night, he cleaned the bathroom again.
