This cruise overall was very nice. My dad paid for the entire family to go (thanks dad!) We took along our almost 2 year old. All attendants from all areas were very attentive to his needs. Our lead waitress was awesome at getting our son his dinner almost immediately when we sat down, which was great. The cabin steward was also fantastic and went above and beyond. Food- overall- was OK, not quite as amazing as the other cruises we have been on- but no worries, I still ate everything. There were a few reported cases of GI illnesses, but none of our party (12 total) experienced these symptoms. There are hand sanitizing stations everywhere on the ship, and every time we passed them we utilized. My main complaint- when booking this cruise it mentioned that there was a toddler play area for children under 3 to play under direct supervision with parents. There is no such thing on this ship. We weren't allowed in the kids club, even if we stayed with our son. On ports of call days, there were toys on the 13th deck (Vortex club I believe) that can be played with and allowed space to run around. On our one sea day, there was no such thing. We were told by the kids club staff that sea days are "very busy" days and they can't use the space for toys. We went up to the space and it was completely empty. In fact, we were there from 10am-noon, and the space was completely open. I couldn't believe on the one day at sea, when the kids need a place to run, there was no such thing. This didn't ruin our trip- not even close- but a word of warning to other families traveling with kids under 3 yo. Every night after dinner, our waitress made a comment about the comment cards and how important they are to the staff. My gut is that this cruise hasn't been rated highly food wise and Royal is keeping a very close eye on it. It almost got obnoxious at the end of the trip. The farewell dinner ended with a speech from the lead Tides dining room staff saying to rate the cruise on all "28 meals (accounting for "4 meals/day") and NOT the one bad meal you may not have liked". Like I said, none of us went hungry. Would I go on this ship again? Nah. Would I recommend this cruise over others? Probably not.

No toddler play area- main complaint, but overall great!

Average for a cruise ship. You don't go on a cruise for the room ;)
