We chose this cruise so we could celebrate New Year's Eve at sea, as we had done two years ago. One drawback in my opinion was that the ship departed on New Year's Eve, leaving little time onboard to prepare for the "big event". I would have preferred a day or two onboard before New Year's Eve, but we made the most of it anyway. We traveled to Lt Lauderdale from NC via car and parked at the port parking lot. We knew in advance that the ship was departing from Terminal 26 but would return to Terminal 29. Celebrity provided us shuttle service from Terminal 29 to our parking garage at 26 the day we returned. Embarkation was probably the worse we've experienced in 13 cruises. It was as if the staff wasn't prepared for the arrival of the guests. Making matters worse was the escalator up to the boarding area was broken so everyone had to take the elevators, creating long lines. Once onboard, though, everything went very smooth. The ship was in great shape and the crew provided an outstanding cruise. We were met with complimentary champagne and Celebrity provided more complimentary champagne at midnight. Food was excellent, whether in the main dining room or in the Ocean View buffet. Entertainment, especially the production cast, was outstanding. Guest entertainers were also very good, especially VoxAudio (acappela group) and Uptown (singing/dancing trio). Overall the entertainment was the best of any cruise we've been on. Cabin seemed smaller than our comparable cabin on Solstice, but maybe is was just the arrangement. We only did one excursion since we had been to two of the islands before. The one we did was on St Kitts and it was the train ride. This was an enjoyable experience taking us around the island and enjoying lots of rum in the process. We would definitely do this cruise again, already thinking about 2018.
