We took a 4 night New Years Eve cruise from Miami on the Victory. The crew was great. Our dinning team was outstanding....friendly, efficient, outgoing....made dinner a joy. Same goes for room steward. Four shows (2 nights) were cancelled, one for weather, 2 for 'technical difficulties". Lounge entertainment was mediocre. First young man had a Karaoke voice andvorite a limited repertoire. Second was a steel drum player...she was ok...but 3 nights of steel drum.....really? The 1 show we did see was short and not very exciting...for entertainment....a C grade. Food was good and plentiful, B+. I will say that their boarding procedure was the best/easiest I have ever encountered. I like that cabin rooms are even on one side of ship, odd on the other....cuts down on confusion trying to find room. Don't like that cabins were only turned down either am or pm....not both. My guess is that they cut back on room stewards (to cut costs) and decreased service. I believe that Carnival is trying to be 'family friendly' which is fine for folks with children. They seem to have a lot for the kids, which is a good thing...but if you are cruising to have time away from the kiddos, then reconsider your choice. There were many unruly little ones running about. I was very surprised that there were very few stations to sanitize your hands...2 days after cruise I suffered Montezuma's revenge. Very few chances to sanitize. I have cruise other lines and will probably go back to my favorite...Norwegian.

Good and not so good
