I chose this cruise for my family to celebrate my parents 50th anniversary. My husband and I had previously cruised on Oasis and I knew it would offer something for everyone in the family from the grands kids up through my parents (15 people total). We stayed near Orlando airport (Hampton Inn Gateway) and took an airport shuttle the morning of the cruise (Cortrans). Service with both was excellent. I was extremely disappointed with the changes I saw in just 3 years. The service level went down considerably, the staff appeared to just not care, and the food quality diminished a great deal. I know that Royal is now a family focused cruise line but I still anticipated there being some locations that were adult only. Sad to say not one location was found. There were children everywhere from the casino, the nightclubs, adult karaoke, and even the solarium. I had several service issues which just brought down my experience. We received a bottle of champagne on arrival day. No glasses, no ice bucket, no desire to even help from our room attendant. Matter of fact he just lied that it wasn't anything he could correct and then pretended he never spoke to us. Bartenders attempted to upsell and overcharge for drinks. I ordered a tequila sunrise and the bartender tried to charge me several dollars more than the price listed in the menu and stated it was because he added a premium tequila, even though I never asked for a specific brand. I booked a regular mani/pedi in the spa but the attendant proceeded to give me a different type of mani/pedi that was almost twice as much in price. We also attempted to purchase pictures in the photo gallery and that experience was frustrating at best. It's the first cruise we've been on where we didn't purchase any pictures. I booked speciality dining for the night of my parents anniversary. I arrive to the restaurant to find they have split our group in two. Never had it been mentioned that we wouldn't be able to sit at the same table. Thankfully the restaurant rectified the situation and we were able to enjoy a nice family dinner. The ports of call were as well as can be expected given the devastating hurricanes. Hopeful that St Thomas will be back and fully operating at some point soon. It was nice to see that Puerto Rico is coming back and Labadee was as expected. There was a good variety of entertainment options onboard. I think Royal would benefit from looking at where some of these activities are placed. There were several events we wanted to attend in Dazzles but it was always too packed to find a seat and the design of the room isn't the most conducive to watching live shows. Would I travel on Oasis again? I seriously doubt it.

No longer a great ship to cruise on
