This being my 30+ cruise and maybe seventh or so with Celebrity this cruise was a bit disappointing. I still recall our first Celebrity cruise back when they had great dance music venues, dance hosts and escorts into the dining room for the ladies. Celebrity is far from that today. The majority of the staff seemed upbeat and very friendly. The wait/bar staff not so much. At times it seemed that you were bothering them. A few times I'd walk up to a bar and the bar staff were just chatting, would look in my direction and continue on with their conversation. At least once or twice I just walked away. I'm not on vacation to deal with stress. And I guess they are cutting costs everywhere, bar napkins had to be requested. I just hate puddles on a table. Silhouette dining room staff are simply over tasked. The days of being pampered are long gone. Each night the wine sommelier had to ask for Sea Pass cards. Yet Karman the dining room bar staff knew from the first night what I wanted and knew my folio number. The ordering of dinner was rushed and the service slow. One night we sat for at least 20 minutes between starters and entree. I'm not trying to be picky, just pointing out some of the things I think are important aspects of cruising. The highlight of the cruise was the cruise activities director Rich Spacey (sp). In all of our cruises Rich by far is the best director ever. Watched him one night in the Grand Foyer, for over 45 minutes he was non stop dancing. Everything from the twist to disco. Kudos to him for making every show entertaining. It was fun watching the officer vs guests in several competitions and it was enjoyable watching the officers strive to win, which in most cases they did! The casino was a disappointment, only of course because we didn't win;) The trivia was weird, not sure where they got their obscure questions. And we hate when people cheat by Googling answers:( Disembarkation in Miami was a breeze. Embarkation not so much. I think the trade off for embarkation is you either stand in a short line and then sit and wait to board. Or as this embarkation was stand in a horrendously long line and then immediately proceed on board. Sure kept the big rush in the buffet down. We were okay with it, however there were a lot of folks complaining. Nothing special in any of the ports of call. We were in cabin 7237; Jayesh our cabin steward. He was fantastic, kept our room tidy and accommodated every request (not that there that many.) Cabin neighbors????? I will never understand the slamming of a cabin door. Early morning/late night our neighbor never held the door, let it slam every time. Just a sheer lack of courtesy and consideration. The ship itself was neat and clean, given the fact they have over 3,000 guests weekly walking through their living room. The only specialty restaurant we ate in was the Tuscan Grille. Our opinion of course, but if you want an outstanding experience with great food and service, the Tuscan is the place to dine. Not sure what else I can add to this review. Overall it was a good cruise.

Just an okay cruise

This being my 30+ cruise and maybe seventh or so with Celebrity this cruise was a bit disappointing.

I still recall our first Celebrity cruise back when they had great dance music venues, dance hosts and escorts into the dining room for the ladies. Celebrity is far from that today.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda
Cabin 1C 7237
Really not sure of the category. The cabin was neat and clean. It was right inside the hall from elevator and stairs. Never heard any noise except the slamming of our next door neighbors door.

For us it was great location, no disappointments.
