We chose this 6 day cruise after a hectic 10 days in Orlando, so this was suppose to relax. We paid the extra to get this Scenic Ocean View cabin. When we entered our cabin we were wow’ed by the view directly out of the front of the ship and also the size of the cabin. We also noticed how cold the room was and the whistling sound coming from the ceiling grill as the force of the air from the air conditioning unit seemed to be stuck on fully blast. We decided to turn it down on the wall control and leave the room to have some lunch and drinks. We returned to the cabin at about 4pm and noticed that the air conditioning was still the same as when we left. We decided to report it at this point, we first reported it to the cabin steward who said he would have it repaired as soon as possible. By 6pm nothing had been done and the cabin steward had seemed to have disappeared, we then reported it to Guest Services. We had reported it 5 times by 1030pm at which point I demanded to get a manager involved. I was joined by the cabin steward floor supervisor who came to our room and it was only at this point something started to happen, 6.5 hrs after first reporting it !! The maintenance person arrived at about 11pm and after about 40 minutes he announced that it could not be fixed that evening. We asked for a more senior engineer but we were told that he could not attend. The cabin steward floor supervisor insisted that the room was not habitable and that we should be move, there then ensued a massive argument between the cabin steward floor supervisor and guest services who insisted we could not be moved as there were NO empty cabins on the whole boat. We were told at about 1am that we had to stay in the room that night, after much argument we finally gave in and got to bed at about 2am - great start to our cruise. We got no sleep that night at all due to the whistling noise and the low temperature. The next day we complained again and departed the ship for a shore excursion, we returned to the ship at about 1pm for some rest only to find nothing had been done. I went to Guest Services and played holy hell and demanded to see the Captain, which seemed to get things moving. The Guest Services lady came with us in the lift to our room, whilst in the lift she let it slip that there were free cabins on the ship but they were told not to use them - FIRST LIE, we were told there were no cabins the night before. When we got to the cabin Guest Services lady realised how bad it was and most of the maintenance team was summoned - low and behold an hour later the airflow was returned to its normal level - SECOND LIE, we were told the night before that the airflow was normal and couldn’t be reduced, it’s amazing what can be done when you demand to see the captain. We spent the rest of the day arguing with Guest Services about the temperature being so low, as we could see our own breath. We spent another night in this freezing cold room with little sleep, The next day after much tinkering by the maintenance staff we actually had a cabin at a decent temperature - we felt 1/3 of our cruise had been ruined. As way of compensation they offered us a spa day or dinner in the steakhouse - we’re not spa people and my wife is vegetarian so we refused these, nothing else was offered. We were disappointed by these events and did not enjoy the rest of the cruise. The whole thing felt cheap with huge lines for the buffet, food being constantly cold even in the restaurant and general lack of attentiveness by the staff. There were a few good points such as the dive-in movies in the evenings with free popcorn and also the 24hr Pizza place. We frequented the Casino which had a good selection of gaming machines and tables but was a smoking area, as non-smokers we found this to be unpleasant but this is standard on most cruise ships. We did enjoy the Serenity area where it was over 21’s only and as we don’t have any then it let us relax in peace. Although I think the children we well catered for and we didn’t find any children to be any bother during the whole cruise However we felt like it was the Walmart of cruises.

Air Con stuck full on for 2 days while the staff lied to us
