Azamara Journey Cruise Review by Sandymay
- Sail Date: August 2017
- Destination: Baltic Sea
We found our cabin to be very comfortable, clean and well looked after by our lovely room attendants. Dining onboard is very good. Lots of options and the specialty restaurants and Chef's Table experience are well worth indulging in.
The ports were all excellent, even the little town of Skagan where the local bands played on the dock as we sailed out. The ship docks so close to the destination cities you literally walk off the ship and you're in town.
We only did Azamara shore excursions in St Petersburg and while they are a little pricey we would highly recommend the "meet a local" tour. A small group of us had afternoon tea with a delightful lady in her family home where she happily chatted about life and answered our questions. It was a great insight into the similarity and differences of life.
Without a doubt the jewel in the crown for Azamara is their staff. Every single person you encounter from your room attendants to the Captain are open, friendly and totally engaged. The senior staff are very visible and interact freely with guests, always happy to chat and answer questions. I believe it's the human factor that creates a sense of loyalty to Azamara.
I look forward to them adding a New York to Montreal route so I can book my next cruise with them.
