Pacific Jewel Cruise Review by imf4u
- Sail Date: July 2017
- Destination: South Pacific
Some ports were great and we were very welcomed by local helpers.
We were a bit disappointed when we went on Moreton Island for the Feeding the Dolphins. P&O did a great organisation but after us we saw another 2 big groups to feed only 4 to 5 dolphins. It was too crowded and I hope P&O will also look into this. We found the local organization was not mature enough to look after the animals as they are wild
The tenders were really good even when the sea was a bit rough. Always helpful staff around.
Our overall review was great, good service and not to mention the Chef's table was a really great experience.
The kids staff were great too making lots of great arts and T-shirts are always the best.
The kids still like the food at home the best :-) but the pancakes were great too.

As it happened the last day of our trip we were unable (sick) to thank the staff of the Jewel for helping us out.
I hope the room(s) have been bug free after our stay and the next journey was a great smooth sail.

CairnsUnfortunately we did not arrive in Cairns but at Yorkey Knob. There was a busservice to go to Cairn and had to pay for it not too much. The bus was very comfortable.View All 127 Cairns Cruise Port Reviews
Cairns has a great boulevard to walk and play for all ages. We were amazed how this was set up. There is even a very nice public pool with great area to BBQ, which we did. Cooked sausages for afternoon lunch.
The weather was not so great so we did not stay too long.

GladstoneThe tour got cancelled due to the late arrival. We were very sad as we loved to see this great beach.View All 8 Gladstone Cruise Port Reviews
Gladstone was a big boring as we are no shoppers.

Whale WatchingThe boat and the guides were very good.View All 1 Whale Watching Reviews
We were hoping for a bit more whales and arrived back 30min earlier than scheduled.
Wild Dolphin DiscoveryThe local organisation had too many people to make it a worthwhile experience.View All 2 Wild Dolphin Discovery Reviews
They are not looking after the 'wild' dolphins they are only looking at the money.
The government should revoke their permit!
Port Douglas, AustraliaThis was a very lovely port with nice shops and restaurants. The atmosphere was really great and the people (volunteers) were really helpful.View All 29 Port Douglas, Australia Cruise Port Reviews
We went on a tour to the Pontoon which was great too. It was of course very busy on the boat and the pontoon but it offered more than we expected.
