Celebrity gave us the best deal for a group/family cruise. The staff were excellent as was the food. Cabins were clean and had plenty of storage. We had three in a veranda stateroom but wouldn't want a fourth person in there. The ship is dated and needs a good cosmetic overhaul. Onboard activities didn't really excite us too much although we did enjoy the MickeyLive show every day to give us a heads-up of what would be happening the following day. Unfortunately I think Mickey has, or will soon be leaving the Infinity for the Solstice. The Oceanview Cafe buffet was fabulous but a bit of a bunfight quite frequently, although I'm not sure Celebrity could do too much about this. We had to use Guest Relations a couple of times. They were always pleasant, polite, friendly and helpful. Shore excursions were good and we organised ours through Celebrity. The exchange rate at the time of booking make Celebrity's excursions very competitive. Hopwever, our first excursion - the forest tram in Icy Strait Point - was a waste of time and money. This isn't Celebrity's fault, just a poor excursion.

Cabin Review

Cabin
Cabin was small but ok for two adults and a teenager. We had plenty of storage. Cabin was clean. The balcony was lovely to have and I wouldn't cruise again without one.

  • Icy Strait
Waste of money. We got a brief trip through the forest where we were told about a few plants and trees. the rest was on a trail between forest and beach. The guide, although very nice, gave us next to no info about where we were and talked more about his family in Canada and his own upcoming cruise to Hawaii.

  • Mount Roberts Tramway
The presentation in the theatre at the top of Mount Roberts was very good - interesting and informative - but the guy presenting was VERY pushy in his request for tips.
Take the trail up to Father Brown's cross. It'll make you pant but it's worth it.

This was a last-minute and unplanned excursion. Juneau Tours gave us a good deal. We were taken by bus up to Mendenhall Glacier park. The driver was informative on the way and made sure we knew exactly where and when to meet to return. We did our own thing at the park but saw the glacier, spawning salmon and a Black Bear with her two cubs fishing for Salmon.
A bus took us to the harbour where we boarded a boat to go whale watching. Both the Captain, Jordan and the two ladies helping out (Sammy, and the other whose name I can't remember) were friendly and knowledgeable. We saw quite of few whales, including one very close to the boat.
This was definitely a day we'll always remember.

The rainforest walk was very interesting and informative. Our guide Nick, seemed to genuinely care about his environment.
The Eagle sanctuary visit was very short. The totem pole carving was ok.
