We had a fantastic time on the Infinity for our 25th anniversary cruise. This was our first Celebrity cruise, although not our first cruise. We embarked in Vancouver after two lovely days there. Very easy process. We left our hotel just before noon and we were on board and heading to our stateroom by 1pm. Our room steward was terrific. Very efficient and friendly. We were in an Oceanview cabin on deck 2. I felt there was ample storage for two people, lots of cabinets, shelves and drawers to store all we needed. One of the best parts of this cruise was Mickey Live. He had sessions most early mornings to look for wildlife and most mid- mornings in the theater to talk about the natural highlights of the cruise and to let you know what to look for the next day or so. This added tremendously to our experience. He was very informative and entertaining. We had select dining and managed to be in the same section of the Trellis restaurant 5 of 7 nights. Our team was wonderful (Chris and Kris), service was top notch. The food was mostly very good (Beef Wellington was fantastic). I felt that the breakfast and lunches were not as well done as the dinners here, and the staff was professional but not that friendly. Our evening team was just the best. Bar service and coffee shop service was efficient and professional, but once again, not that friendly. They did a fine job, but I do enjoy some banter with staff. The exception to this was the staff at the Martini Bar who were just wonderful, friendly and lovely. Oceanview dining was good early morning for breakfast or later in the afternoon for lunch. Other times it was a crowded mess with not enough seating. The stations were very spread out so it was hard to see all that was available. The stations at the very back did fresh omelettes in the morning and fresh grilled meat for lunch. Very nice. The eggs Benedict station in the morning was wonderful as well. We learned to enjoy the Oceanview at non-peak times. Food quality was good for the most part with lots of variety. Entertainment was fine. I felt that the talent was good, but the shows themselves weren't that inspired. Duo Destiny was the aerial team and they were wonderful. We did amazing excursions at all ports, and these made the cruise just wonderful. Whale watching with Glacier Winds at Icy Straight, Adventure Bound small boat trip to Tracey Arm Fjord in Juneau, and Float plane with Island Wings in Ketchikan. All were well worth it. Disembark was fast and easy. Overall this was a lovely cruise and we had a fantastic time. I am not one to worry about some rust here or there or a worn seat cover. The Infinity is an older vessel but well taken care of. I would sail her again or another Celebrity ship.
