We will have long lasting memories of this cruise, the transit through the canal, the ports of call and the high standard of service from all the staff. What is memorable but for different reasons is the state of the ship. It was clean but tired, jaded and overdue a refit. Our Aqua Class cabin (9045) had furniture and fittings well past their best, the air conditioning was so noisy at times, it woke us up. Bedlinen was a poor quality and the pillows very uncomfortable. The bathroom was certainly not luxurious. There was a black ring round the toilet and mould in the shower and in the shower door seals which were so old, they were cracked and had bits missing so the bathroom flooded after a shower. Throughout the ship there were other signs of being due some maintenance. Deck railings were rusty, with rust flaking off. During the cruise, condensation on the ceiling of the Oceanview Cafe led to liquid dropping from the ceiling onto gusets and their food - very hygenic. Increasingly, air conditioning in some areas was turned down or off. Staff were excellent but the ship seemed understaffed leading to longer than expected delays in being served. Food in Blu was excellent as well as in Sushi on 5. The Oceanview Cafe was no better/worse than expected. Ports of call were a mixed bag. If you want to shop then Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta are for you. At Puerto Quetzal, the ship berths in a the middle of coal heaps, gas containers and powerstations. We took an excursion to the Highlands and enjoyed it. Puntarenas was another port where there was little in the port but the excursions were excellent. Willemstaad was the jewel in the crown. A beautiful place to wander around with the ship berthing close to town The transit of the Canal was the highlight of the cruise. The skill in getting through the locks is amazing. Embarkation and disembarkation was the usual queuing but no worse than other cruise lines and better than most Would not travel on Infinity again though unless re-fitted
