OCEANIA adverts: Featuring FREE Unlimited Internet, plus choose one of the below FREE: 4 - 10 FREE Shore Excursions FREE House Beverage Package $400 - $1000 Shipboard Credit We booked this cruise while travelling on the Marina last autumn, one reason for which was an interest to compare the small Oceania ships with the 'identical' Azamara Journey, which we like very much. The larger Riviera and Marina are lovely, and set a high standard throughout. Firstly, a word of warning. One of the features which attracted us was 'Free Unlimited Internet'. Don't be fooled by this. The internet service was awful. Connection was difficult at any time of day (except, perhaps, the middle of the night) sometimes taking up to 15 minutes, and even logging out was a pain. Often one just gives up trying. You might be better choosing one of the alternative offers and paying for your internet. My first impression on boarding was that the Insignia decor appeared a little 'tired' by comparison with Azamara, and as I became more familiar with it that seemed to be the case. Also the package was sold as Concierge level, but there was no Concierge lounge. Food: dinner generally excellent in the Grand Dining Room; (85% excellent, 15% disappointing). Toscana, disappointing, Polo semi-disappointing (it is a steak restaurant. If one asks for rare, there is no excuse for it to be presented well done, and have to be sent back.). We heard that Oceania has a higher budget per person for food, and it was possibly of a slightly higher standard. Entertainment: High standard, but Az higher. More varied lectures would be appreciated. Nightly chocolates: both identical, and both boring. Staff excellent, although not quite as friendly as Azamara. Cabin as Az; bathroom small but OK.
