  3. Ovation of the Seas
The Ovation is one big massive ship. Overall, the ship is beautiful , all designed with the latest modern technology, furnishing , colour tone and facilities. Nothing really to complain about the service, cleanliness and dining options. The food at Windjammer was good, offering variety and i must say despite it being the crazy school holiday week in Singapore, the crowd at windjammer with kids and all can be nuts, but the staff kept their cool and even offered great service. Sad to say, the Grand Dining Hall is now spilt into 4 different smaller restaurants which serves the same menu (was also meant to serve different cuisine but i guess RC couldnt cope?) . The food offered is below par compared to the Marina and Voyager and service also was not as great compared to those ships. I guess this concept must be reviewed by RC. I like all the modern stuff with the Ovation, dont get me wrong. But when it comes to the grand dining, formal nights, it is still a delight to dine in the classic style 3 level dining hall. Furthermore the bigger space offers more flexibility for RCL with the allocation. The food menu didnt even include the classic shrimp cocktail and cheese platter - it was all very simple . deserts were just like similar desserts taken from Windjammer? so ended up Windjammer excelled over the dining places. I must say Two70 lounge and cafe is my favourite place! really well designed for entertainment, light bites and drinks and to relax. The Pixels show was amazing! and always love all the cool modern background music played here. The Solarium was also another great relaxing place with dip pools and beautiful plants . The entertainment and shows on board was as usual top quality - broadway style. Very impressive. but there was only one movie screening in the evening at the pool - 8pm. not many could catch it since its dinner time. wished they had a later timing as before. One of the key attractions of the ship is the North Star. But also one of the things that made passengers disappointed due to the reservation system. you had to book this before the cruise as there were limited places. However, when i tried to book this a few mths before my cruise, nothing could be booked online. On board, you had to join in the walk in line - which takes i dunno 45mins to 1hr plus at least? and in the hot sun on deck 15. To be fair to all, i feel RC can better manage this. a ticket can be given only on board which tells you which day and time to come back. i wold think a lot didn't get the chance to experience the North Star as the queues were too long and before you board, everything says fully booked. Same thing goes for the iFly. Giving a ticket only onboard would be more fair, As for Seaplex, very cool place for bumper cars, sports and all . but each bumper card ride is 1min.. dont think queuing for so long for a min ride is a good experience. overall a fantastic ship packed with everything - but some fine tuning required for the activities due to the high expectations from everyone to try most of the facilities. And the grand dining - definitely need to review - or most regulars will think twice before boarding a mega ship.
