We travelled to the Caribbean for 2 weeks 2 adults , 1 nine year old in Feb 17. This was our first cruise. Following long journey embarkation well organised. You don't go through Barbados customs, you get on a bus straight to the ship. We did not opt for a cabin upgrade and glad we did not pay the extra. We only spent time in the room to sleep and shower. The room was spacious enough with sufficient storage space. We had the all inclusive drinks package. We are not huge drinkers so unsure if it was actually work spending that money seeing as we were off ship every day. 75% of the passengers appeared over 60 and boy do they have fun. The entertainment was for the over 60's and was lovely to watch them having confused huge amounts of cocktails ! The shows were considered poor by some passengers, although I cannot comment . I find my own entertainment. Take a water bottle and fill it on the ship before you go out . Shame on Thompson for not providing bottled water to customers when they go out for the day. They are happy to sell you it though ....... Wifi not free on ship and those that paid ridiculous amount to have wifi found it poor and rarely worked . Every port had free wifi in the shop areas. Food very good in the serviced restaurants. The self service "island" was a bit like butlins waiting for a seat so stayed away. Dress code is low key, one "dress to impress night" per week with most wearing black tie/ cocktail dress. If you want to enter the serviced resteraunts gents must wear long trousers so do not forget to pack them. Shorts can be worn in the " self serviced island". One night in the island and I was fed up. We did not take any Thompson excursions as they were heavily priced for little time. Kids club great and had to drag our son away. This runs 9-11am , 4-6pm and 8-10pm daily activities changed and all children seemed very happy. Bar/ cleaning staff all work very hard. Smoking an issue for some and perhaps they should advertise this as a "anti-smoking" cruise. You can only smoke on deck 4, or deck 9 during the hours of 8am-10pm

1st cruise and loved every minute

Cabin Review

Cabin 3517
Plenty of storage space and comfortable bed. Did not upgrade as was only used to sleep and shower. Very clean and bed made daily and turned down each evening. Beach towels replaced daily .
