I enjoyed the cruise from the beginning until the very end I hated to leave the Jewel, but I do have to work sometimes! It is a beautiful ship. Our meet and mingle group was  very active online and we had several events planned. I don´t drink and I don't gamble, so I did not join in those activities, but I did enjoy the cabin crawl especially. We had excellent service and although our stateroom was rather crowded with three not thin adults, our stateroom attendant put in a rollaway bed, at our request, to better serve one of our group who sleeps with a C-Pak machine.Scrapbooking is an activity I participate in whenever I have the opportunity, and on this ship it is a priority activity. It was held in a room with plenty of natural light and there were enough materials to go around. The ports were good. I visited friends and former students in Puerto Limón and it was so nice to see them and their three little boys. I was too tired to go to any shows with the leisurely paced dining it was a bit too leisurely. They saved the waiters singing until the final two nights for some reason. Wehad nice table mates, but one man was seasick the whole voyage, so he was just there one night and his wife came twice. Meanwhile, there were two girls sitting alone at a table set for ten right next to us. Their friends went to the Windjammer every day!The only problem I had was with the reservation. It somehow got into one of my cabin mates' names, and I had made the reservation. All of the onboard credit went to her and I was unable to get the situation fixed online, on the phone or on the ship.  We were going to split it three ways, and I did get my share, so I am not complaining about her, just Royal Caribbean! So  for my next cruise, I opted to go alone!Going through the Panama Canal was fascinating and I have lots of photos of that especially. The Jewel is a real gemBetty Jean

Cabin Review

Cabin
I asked for an interior cabin on a lower deck that was not under any clubs nor near the dining room, kitchen, etc.in the middle so I wouldn't get seasick. I got what I requested. This was my fifth cruise, the fourth with Royal Caribbean. On my first two cruises, I was near the bow and was extremely seasick. On my third, on the Liberty, we were under a club and the noise was terrible preventing us from sleeping. On the next two, I purposely requested a quiet space in the middle of the ship and got what I asked for. Now that I know what I need, at the price that I can afford, I am happy with my cabins. Some day, when I can afford a balcony, I am not sure I will take it. You get good service anywhere, and is the view worth the extra money?  I am not so sure!Betty Jean
