  3. Carnival Dream
This was our 13th cruise and I would have to say, much like other reviewers have already mentioned there were noticeable, albeit small cut-backs on board the Carnival Dream but all in all it was still a great cruise. Embarkation was a bit chaotic. Some friends, who had the same boarding time as we did, were told they had to wait outside while we (and many others in our group who arrived 30 minutes early) were allowed to check in upon arrival. ??? We received outstanding service from our cabin steward, Pasek. He was WONDERFUL! Although the Carnival Dream is now only offering either morning or evening cabin service, we didn't miss the normal two visits. We opted for morning service. Pasek did an amazing job at keeping us well stocked with plenty of towels and ice all week long. He kept our cabin and bathroom very tidy and gave us extra pool towels each morning. Food in the dining room seemed to lack consistency. Some at our table complained that their food was not good at all while others who ordered the same dish said their's was terrific. The biggest complaint, by far, was that by the time we got our food, most of the time it was cold. One of the nights mine was so cold I was afraid to eat it for fear of getting food poisoning. It had very obviously been sitting for quite a long time Service in the dining room was very slow most nights but not because the staff weren't working hard. Carnival needs to step up and hire more help in the food department!!! Those people worked their buns off! Frederico was our main waiter and he was terrific! His helper (I'm sorry, I can't remember his name) was wonderful as well! I saw him working on another area of the ship on day 2 and he recognized me immediately (although I did not recognize him) and called me by name. How on earth did he remember my name after just one meeting? Lido buffet got VERY crowded on sea days but we have learned the art of timing our visits so it wasn't as bad for us as for some. Made to order omelets are always a hit and the guys preparing them in the omelet station furthest to the back of the ship were super! Always happy and eager to please. The pizza was surprisingly delicious but the long lines most of the time made us avoid going for a slice quite often. It, like the dining room, weren't properly staffed. I would have loved to have tried a slice of margherita pizza but in 7 days I never saw them make one. Mostly just cheese and pepperoni. We were told that the Dream would be undergoing a face lift shortly after our cruise. I would love to go back and see the updates. We were disappointed that there wasn't a Guy's Burger Joint. The Seaside BBQ was only offered on sea days and was good, but not easy to find. We never got off the ship at Montego Bay and it was nice to enjoy a quiet day with cocktails by the pool most of the day! Our stop at Grand Cayman was just a quick shopping visit for us. We've been at this port many times and have pretty much done all the excursions we have wanted to here. Our stop at Cozumel was fantastic. We did the Passion Island via catamaran all inclusive and it was off the charts the best excursion we've ever done! So relaxing! Not crowded at all and all the food, drinks and lounging in the water a person could possibly want. I would definitely go back!!!
