As a wee retirement treat after nearly 40 years as a Firefighter decided to take my wife on another cruise for the first and will be the last time with Celebrity. Can say from start to finish we had nothing but issues. Rather than give you a daily account of my miserable cruise I shall list the Celebrity failures. Soon as wee stepped on board was met by slightly aggressive Stewards as they tried to sell us upgrades and restaurant bookings. After a 13 hour long haul flight was the last thing we needed. Incidentally I upgraded my drinks package to Classic and booked two dinners the next day being the Tuscan Grill and La Quisine. My Stateroom being 6007 was above the Crew Bar so had an endless stream of noise starting from midnight onwards. Reported the noise issue daily and nightly and was offered another cabin two days before disembarkation. Ended up catching sickness and diarrhoea two days into the Cruise being charged $135 to tell me something I already knew. Was ill for 4 days and only managed a couple of hours in Bali on our 3 day stay at Benoa. Felt the on board Ocean View Cafe food was bland and lacked choice and have experienced better on other Cruise lines. Service was first class on both the Tuscan Grill and La Quisine and give 10 out of 10 for the high standard of food especially in La Quisine, Seems my Classic drinks package was a waste of money. Asked on one occasion for Budweiser only to be told they had none , asked for Malbec again told there was none. Wife wanted a Pinot Grigot again only to be told there was none but in the Tuscan Grill and La Quisine was not a problem. Cosmos was also a failure with on board Hi De Hi entertainment found at a 1950's Butlins holiday camp and again could not get the beverages we wanted as they had ran out but did advertise it on there drinks menu. When I politely questioned the bar staff on the drinks issue again was met again with argumentative defensive bar staff. Embarkation and Disembarkations went smoothly and had no issues land side. There was other issues. Tired Stateroom with cracked tiles in the en-suite and grubby sealant but to be fair to Rafael our cabin attendant did a great job in keeping our Stateroom clean and tidy and was well rewarded on departure. There was no 24hr service apart from room service if you wanted a light bite late at night or even a cup of coffee. Nothing all facilities closed. No Ironing and washing machine facilities so had to rely on very expensive ironing and laundry service. Don't take your travel iron it will be confiscated as is your Passport on embarkation. Not one Sale Off maybe this is a Celebrity thing again but very disappointing. Practically everyone we spoke to had some sort of issue or complaint. Lack of Staff with low moral lack of preferred beverages and quality of food being the main issue. We will never use Celebrity again and will just boil this experience down to a very expensive folly. I had heard nothing but good reports from other Cruisers who have used Celebrity and thought we were in for 5 Star treatment ....

Very Disappointing.

Cabin Review

Ocean View 6
Cabin 06 6007
Cabin was tired and dated but clean enough. En-suite tiled floor had cracked tiles and had signs of previous poor repair with grubby sealant but functional. Biggest problem was our cabin being above the Crew Bar and had constant noise issues. So do not pick 6007.
