Sagitta Cruise Review by Rowan813
- Sail Date: November 2016
- Destination: Eastern Caribbean
We didn't expect to see several of the same crew members. I think it says something very positive about a company to see employees stay for long periods of time. Once again, we were completely impressed by the entire crew, each one working tirelessly to ensure we all had a perfect week. Leah did a great job of providing information, offering suggestions, and setting up activities in each port. Matt, our Captain shared his extensive knowledge of all of the islands and was always ready to assist wherever needed. If you are lucky enough to sail with King, you will get to enjoy his comedy show- a highlight of each of our trips.
The Sagitta is a very comfortable ship, with enough room to move around to find a quiet place for relaxation or for joining the conversation wherever a few people gather.
The cabins may look small in photos, but they are very thoughtfully laid out with plenty of storage. The bathrooms are larger than you expect. The stewards do a great job of keeping everything spotlessly clean.
Food on these trips has been excellent. We had George as out chef both weeks. This week we got to meet the new crew member, Erman who did beautiful food carvings and baked wonderful pastries. There is no lack of opportunity to overeat on this trip. I especially love the days they serve West Indian cuisine.
We enjoyed meeting the other travelers and will remain friends with several.
A few tips: take extra sunscreen and less of everything else. Take soft sided luggage. When the crew offers advice on what to see or where to visit, listen, they know these islands well. Whenever they offer to set up transport let them. They hire excellent, reliable transportation at fair prices.
