Mississippi River cruise from New Orleans to Vicksburg and return. The America was new this year but our cabin showed signs of abuse. Most notably heavily stained carpet. Also the internet was slow and apparently had bandwith problems as I could not load photos into Facebook after the second day. Now for the positives: Cabin temperature was easy to maintain. Crew was very friendly. Staff was very friendly and efficient. Special shout out to our favorite waitress, Emma A. for the great job she did with our table! The menu was varied but a bit heavy on lamb for my taste. Portion sizes were on the small side which was good and you could always order extra. Word of caution---they had a very hard time cooking hamburgers past rare. All other food I had was cooked perfectly. In my opinion most of the entertainment was just fair but that's not unusual for this size ship. One exception was Judy the comedian. We all thought she was outstanding! The included excursions were all interesting and informative and there were a few extra cost excursions but we didn't take any of them. The highlight for me was the tour of the Vicksburg Battlefield which we thoroughly enjoyed. The guide was excellent. We also enjoyed plantation tours at Oak Alley, and Houmas House. There were no children on this cruise. We have booked another cruise with American Cruise Lines.

Cabin Review

Cabin 301
Cabin was big enough but the carpet was badly stained. There were plenty of electrical outlets for your computers and cell phones.
