I chose Celebrity because of past experiences.. I had taken this cruise two other times and had a wonderful experience. This time I was not so impressed. The ship seemed to have cut down on expenses across the board. The food experience, which we in the past had highly enjoyed, was bland and rushed in the main dining room in the evening. We found ourselves in the Oceanview Café most nights. Having a spouse in a wheelchair, I was looking forward to a respite of care, having someone wait on me... not so much here. I still had to fend for both of us, and one meal was always cold by the time I got both plates prepared. The shows were about 1/3 terrific and 2/3 mediocre. Enough of the remakes of old songs. Lots of emphasis on shopping on the ship and upsells (know that's part of cruise revenue...but it gets old after 14 days). Lots of space was devoted to "special areas" for high end passengers... guess they are catering to the many repeat customers who go into the pricier cabins. Staff was terrific! Can't say enough about the people who were so very helpful. Captain Kate was amazing with her daily talks. Totally enjoyable. I felt badly because we had some friends who had never cruised before and listened to us rave about Celebrity..... they went with us and although they enjoyed it... they had nothing to compare it to as we did. Few activities/lectures to spark interest.

Canada and New England. Summit needs a makeover
