Travelled with five friends in celebration of three milestone birthdays. Our room locations were good (6th floor & near the elevators) and our quarters well maintained throughout our trip. Beds were comfortable and sufficiently roomy on the Silhouette. Balcony was big enough for two chairs and a table to enjoy breakfast every morning. We dined in one of the restaurants every night and our servers were very pleasant and took pleasure in recommending their dinner menu choices and wine pairings. The martini bar was advertised as being the meeting place on specified nights for singles to meet each other. Being the only single gal in my group of six I looked forward to finding out who else was travelling solo. Sadly this was not an arranged meet up and none of the bartenders knew what I was talking about. A bit embarrassing for me to say the least. Perhaps a designated area near the martini bar or one of the many common rooms on the ship would have been a better idea for a meeting place. Our shore excursions were money grabs because they were basically for a bus ride to and from our destination that day. The guide just disappeared after giving us our time frame. The private excursions that we booked had more value and could be tailored to our schedule (some places took more time than others). We actually needed an additional two people for one of our private excursions and our travel consultant found a couple through one of her sites pre-sailing. Hop on-hop off buses were a great way to see the local sights for a small fee. Sun decks were crowded on sea days but you could always find a lounger, if not 6 together. Sufficient smoking areas were provided on several decks and surprisingly they were always busy. Daily activities like dancersize were fun on sea days, the gym sufficiently equipped but the zumba classes for a fee fell short. I have sailed with Celebrity before and enjoyed my experience because it was always with my group of travelling girlfriends, BUT they fell short on their advertised singles get together. This will prompt me to look to other cruise lines for the travelling solo experience. Perhaps they don't realize that people who are single (I am personally widowed) also want to cruise and are looking for companions to dine with, see the sights with and generally have someone to talk to throughout their voyage and maybe form new friendships. Other reviews on solo travelling also voiced disappointment so I know I'm not alone on this one.....now the question is....does Celebrity care?

Have to rate my overall experience
